given one of the age group has 7 players now on different ECNL and MLSNext teams and are better currently then NVA. Its both nepotism and talent. Valor coaches are garbage in general, but yet there were always 3-4 kids that had talent.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:that was purely nepotism.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:unless the kid is elite they will be in back of line. There is nothing preventing a U12 kid from any club in the country in trying out for FVU (or any other ECNL/GA club) at U13 and completely pass over the ADP sessions used to try and get a head start on who is worthy. If my kid is from one of these clubs do I get a discount? No. The only thing we might get is the chance to pay for uniforms each summer for USL-youth.

Nonsense, Valor couldn't get kids on NVA teams.
Over the past year, a couple of Valor girls have been added to NVA, and these players are very talented. This isn’t about nepotism but rather about their ability to compete at a high level. The truth is, Valor typically doesn’t have strong coaching at the U9-U12 levels to properly prepare these girls for such competitive play. The Valor girls who made it to NVA have put in extra training beyond their regular club sessions. Instead of complaining about nepotism, Valor should focus on improving its own development system.

Was that due to lack of talent on Valor teams, or at least partly because Loudoun and favored their own? GFR left the alliance before Valor did. It seems like they were fed up with the way Loudoun was doing things.

Announce the coaches for next year? I loathe my child's current coach and we will leave if he moves up with them, but might stay if the coach changes.
