This is coming amid widespread claims by Trump and his propagandists that the violence wasn’t really all that bad or that he didn’t actually intend for the mob he incited to subvert the election’s peaceful conclusion through intimidation and violence.
This newly revealed pressure on the Justice Department came in the days leading right up to that incitement. The more it’s revealed that Trump absolutely did fully intend to subvert the election via corrupt and illicit means to remain in power illegitimately, the harder it is to deny what we all saw with our own eyes.
After failing to accomplish that via his bottomless efforts to corrupt the process, Trump attempted to complete the task with mob political violence. That’s what happened, and the more we learn, the worse it will be.”

Even if there's no bipartisan commission, there are still examinations underway, right? More will come out...
Absolutely. There’s at least two House committees looking into this as well as DOJ. But everything will be tarred by Rs as a partisan witch hunt.

At least one, I will try to find the link. This defendant certainly thought it was an insurrection, though.

The 1/6 events were planned, coordinated and funded.
The FBI didn't spur it.
Okay, okay. If you think we should it put it to bed, let's do that.![]()
There’s no evidence to the contrary except for what comes out of Tucker Carlson’s freakishly small mouth.
How quickly the conversation went from "the FBI doesn't do that, duh" to "there's no evidence it happened." Next it will be "so what if they did, it was warranted."

There were a few in the recent plot to kidnap Gov Whitmer. They pretend they're one of them and encourage criminal activity. We don't know that the FBI did that on Jan 6 but they've been warning up that white supremacists are the biggest threat we face as a nation for a couple of years now. It would be a dereliction of duty if they weren't present with all the warning signs they had in advance.
Precisely the issue.
Nope. The “unindicted co-conspirator“ in the Thomas Caldwell indictment is his own wife. It’s not antifa, it’s not BLM, and it’s not the FBI.

And the FBI doesn't just infiltrate random groups and "encourage criminal activity." They infiltrate groups that are already engaged in criminal activity.
Oh, for sure. And they encourage the activity and take an active role in it.
The issue is that if they were indeed there, it’s a problem because the violence still happened. Infiltrating the group is fine. Finding out violence is being planned should be reported.
Perhaps you've forgotten that there were FBI reports to the US Capitol Police that there would be violence on the 6th and that those reports were ignored?
