Tommie Jones, DPR's Chief of External Affairs, said the agency would put language into its transfer agreement with DCPS that would ensure Duke Ellington School for the Arts, Hardy Middle School and the School Without Walls would have "first priority access for school-related events" at the field.

Will the Maret head of school be next to walk the plank?
The Washington Post has a huge list of Jack Evans corrupt actions. In the same year he did the Jelleff deal, he was criticized for using 115,000$ in funds to help needy constituents with things like paying their electricity bill to buy sports tickets. #Maretvalues
These have nothing to do with Maret. It's just a couple of Hardy activists venting. #Hardyfailingurbanschool

As the federal investigation into D.C. Council member Jack Evans continues, Mayor Muriel Bowser made it clear Wednesday that she does not want it to serve as a distraction from the work ahead in the District.
“I’m obviously very sad that a public servant who had dedicated his career to improving the District made some very significant mistakes and he’s reaping the consequences now, but I think like most people, I’m ready to turn the page and focus on the business of the District of Columbia,” she said.

Nothing is happening. But Jack Evans was one of the few people on the record as supporting this deal, and he was just forced to resign due to his corruption, so maybe with him gone, better policymaking can prevail.
Hopefully the Maret deal will be reconsidered with Evans out. I would think that if you only can push a deal through by dealing with a corrupt politician and giving admission for his kids then your contract should be examined and thrown out if found illegal.

DC doesn’t necessarily need more tax revenue. It need to spend money more wisely. Too much is wasted on DCPS fluff like “esteem specialists” and “diversity advocates” and sole-source consulting agreements with mayoral cronies.
