Republican Maine State Representative Lucas Lanigan turned himself into police on an aggravated assault charge for strangling his "romantic partner" after she confronted him about an affair.

And still won his race by one vote.

Ryan Dewayne Jenks, 45, Republican former candidate for the Idaho House of Representatives, has been charged with three counts of lewd conduct with a child under 16 and two counts of sexual abuse of a minor under 16.

Judges need to do a better job of protecting children from abusers. Parnell was shown a picture of his son with a red hand print on his back and claimed it wasn't his son. Do Republicans think it's okay to leave marks on their children?

Update: Sean Parnell who abused his wife and lost custody of his kids is now the Chief Pentagon spokesman.

The Post story actually made me feel like this was a failure of multiple things, including our lousy mental health system.

It just seems like a tragedy all around. His mom was apparently driving him to get mental health treatment.

I need to read more accounts here-I feel like there are details missing.

Sen. Christie New Craig, a Republican elected in 2023 to represent Virginia Senate District 19, filed paperwork to run using an address in Chesapeake.

But a copy of the property lease lists New Craig's now chief of staff as the tenant, not her.
