Exactly. I found the women’s demeanor bizarre— like they were enjoying themselves and doing this as a lark.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I just finished reading an article on the ICE agent’s background. He was based in Minneapolis, so not someone unfamiliar with the area or the cultural values.
He was also highly trained, which makes it even more curious that he had such little impulse control and lacked discipline in the field. From the article:
Ross said he has served as a deportation officer based in Minnesota since he joined ICE in 2015. He is assigned to fugitive operations, seeking to arrest “higher value targets” in the ICE region that includes Minneapolis, he testified last month. He said that he was also a team leader with the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force.
“So I develop the targets, create a target package, surveillance, and then develop a plan to execute the arrest warrant,” he said.
Ross said that he was also a firearms instructor, an active shooter instructor, a field intelligence officer and member of the SWAT team. He said that he attended the Border Patrol’s academy in New Mexico, where he learned to speak Spanish.

And just ruined the rest of his life.

Who were the ICE agents trying to apprehend at the time?
Well, we now know Ross was an “SRT” officer. Why did ICE send an SRT-ICE official to that scene?
If THAT trigger-happy idiot is special response trained then we are in deep trouble.
+1 one of the most disturbing things about the situation is that the shooter has been with the agency for like 20 years. There’s no hope for the new recruits with terrible senior leadership like this.

I'm sure they would have been okay with getting a ticket, maybe having to pay a fine. Maybe spend some time in jail. Those are the normal consequences for civil disobedience, not getting killed.
If the car had stayed in park, that’s probably all that would have happened.
And not taunting ICE and yelling at them. Not my idea of a peaceful protest.
The lesson is that if you hurt precious ma feeling you get executed.
That’s second degree involuntary tmanslaughter, at least
The audio of "F*****g B****" is chilling. What a cold voice. He wasn't scared at all, just contemptuous.
What did she want him to call her? She went there with the purpose to provoke and she succeeded. Rest in peace.

That's not what they were doing.
Here's what they were doing: They were engaging in performance theater, hence the filming of themselves. They were behaving in a way intended to provoke a confrontation. While the death of one of the pair was likely an unintended consequence, it was also the result of foolish choices, self-aggrandizing behavior, and a wanton disregard for the risks they posed to themselves and to others by trying to attract law enforcement attention and then trying to evade it in what can be a deadly weapon when operated recklessly and in contravention of law enforcement instructions. Tragic, but self-inflicted.

I think we can all agree this poor lady appeared to be in a fragile mental state.

Not with the way the first agent reached inside her door. There was no guarantee of their safety.
But obviously everyone’s safety was not their goal, or they would never have been there at all. How did the women want it to end?
No. It was a peaceful protest. No one was the tiniest bit unsafe, until ICE stumbled by.
She hit the officer with her car. Not exactly peaceful.
No. It was a peaceful protest and no violence was planned or carried out.
Even if she did hit the officer, which I doubt, he was in the wrong for walking in front of her car. She was clearly turning her wheels to drive away.
Driving away from the men who were yelling at her and grabbing her car. That wasn't part of the protest.
Stop arguing about this. There was no justification for shooting her.
They are going to believe what they want, we can’t control that. We have to let go and wait for proper independent investigation to be done and court to decide.
I’ll be buying a whistle to blow if I see ice near my home or anywhere else. And I’ll hide or run. We have all learned - ICE are criminals.
