You people are hysterical, and I don't mean funny. The NTSB announced that due to the huge amount of requests, they will not be notifying the press of briefings, news, etc., through email. Instead will do public notifications on X for where and when the briefings will take place. Get a grip.

With so many people learning about and following this situation through social media and public forums, they clearly are getting hammered with requests. Seems like the best way to ensure everyone can have access to the information. Also, the postings on X aren't new. Just no longer including the email appears to be new.

If it was a continuity of government training/certification mission, then wouldn't the PAT call sign be the appropriate one to use for such a mission (just as it would in an actual continuity of government situation)?

If it was a training exercise, and the person with only 500 hours on the BH is at the controls, as fast as these things move, I could see how something could go wrong very quickly and hard to get back on track, especially if they had not identified the correct plane approaching.

The flight radar -- you cant track all flights (and ships) on line. The Blackhawk appears on the radar 3 miles east of Langley, then flies down river past Langley to the site of the crash.
