The highest level U13+ boys locally play at NVA, VDA, DCU (and out of town MLS academies), Bethesda, SYC, Alexandria, Baltimore Armour, Arlington, Achilles, etc. Local players not able to make an MLSN/ECNL roster have shown they would rather drive to WV to play on a doormat MLSN team than play at Revolution. The caliber of player/teams at the top local MLSN/ECNL teams is 2-3 levels above Revolution. Have a look at a schedule and catch a match. Sounds harsh, but Revolution is irrelevant to anyone outside of Leesburg and maybe Ashburn. No player or parent will choose Revolution over any top MLSN/ECNL club.
Merging with a USL club and maybe a girls pro club down the road doesn't move the needle at all.

Quick flashy fix - it’s what rich folks do

Usl championship (Loudoun utd’s team) is not going to be 2nd tier of pro soccer in USA.

USL announced a new structure and USL-C will be the third tier.

VRSC won’t tell you this. Loudoun UTD won’t either but at least now they have a sucker who will absorb their 7 digits losses.

As a previous poster noted, VRSC gained an extra field but nothing else. Almost 10 years later not one single male or female player has been produced by the club worthy of mention

Hopefully they can get some better talent. VRSC cant compete with the big clubs in the area girls or boys.

Wow they have everything! Except the ONLY 3 things that matter. Good players, good coaching, and a good product on the field are nowhere to be found

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

By the way, their GA coaching staff is hands down the best ECNL or GA staff in the DMV. Please, tell me which club has a better girls staff and why?

Any where do you think the top boys coaches will go now that VRSC has two pro teams at the top of their pyramid?

Feel free to kid yourself, as you’ve done for the last year, but the writing is on the wall.

VRSC having the best boys or girls coaching staffs in the area is a funny thing to say.

2 pro teams? Loudoun United is a professional team. VRSC Pro isn’t a pro team. Pro teams have pro players that get paid.

I said girls, not boys. CC, MJ, and JU. Which club has a better girls staff in DMV? There is none. Boys staff will come with this news.

CC was in NOVA when there were only 2 ECNL programs and couldn’t win anything until BP showed up. MJ is a good second team coach.

Bethesda has a better staff. So does VDA.

SC, KL, and ML are good coaches, but they are not even remotely close to CC, MJ, and JU. Look at their resumes.

Funniest thing I have read all day. KL is actually one of the worst coaches/directors in the DMV. I’ve heard some crazy stories about him…SC has had more red cards, fights with other coaches, and can’t control his parents from insulting teenage girls from opposing teams. He was not able to turn around the 07s last year and the 12s are struggling as of late. KL hasn’t turned around the 09s either.

I’ll give you VDA though. Hate BP all you want but he is excellent. The other VDA coaches are better than anyone at Bethesda. FVU used to one of the best before the mergers. Arlington coaches seem to be up and coming if they can keep them.

NVA is awful for coaching. Maybe even worse than Bethesda or SYC. FVU is just confusing and all over the place now.

VRSC Girls coaches are probably 2nd in the area. It’s too bad they won’t get the talent that ECNL gets.

How cute you think you know our roster for next year.

As a parent of a GA player at VRSC, I wish the club had been able to get this news out earlier. Probably too late to meaningfully help rosters for 2025-26.

Do you think that girls rosters would add players because Revolution is now affiliated with a failing minor-league men’s professional team?

Combined, not affiliated. VRSC is the only club in the DMV that goes from ulittles to USL Championship professional club. Loudoun United was already close to DC United, and there is ownership overlap with DC Power FC, so it’s not hard to envision VRSC adding a women’s professional team to their pathway in short order. So, yes, I absolutely do think yesterday’s news will prompt players who previously wouldn’t have considered VRSC to give them a look. Within Loudoun County, why would anyone choose Loudoun GA over VRSC GA now? NVA will continue to have stronger teams for the time being, but I don’t see that being the case 3 years from now.

I’m sorry. Thought this was a DMV discussion. You’re right on this. VRSC will be top club in Loudoun County in the next 3 years. That has nothing to do with professional teams, though. I’m an outsider watching from another county. It is impressive to see what the club has been able to do over the last five years.

Who is getting rid of field space? The combination is between VRSC and Loudoun United—the professional team, not the unrelated Loudoun Soccer Club youth program.

Cope harder troll. I can't decide if you're staff from a local club or a disgruntled parent who's kid who is stuck on a second team elsewhere. I hope it is the later; because hey, little Jimmy or Jill is second fiddle there! 😂🎻

The coaching overall after being at numerous clubs in the area for years is better than most. The player development is better as well. In a few years Rev can easily eclipse a lot of the local clubs.
