Bro, they are doing a bad job trying to convince intelligent people that Russia is in the right here with your shtty propaganda. You are doing a terrible job. Fking give up.

No one here supports the invading aggressor here and that’s Russia. Why don’t you fk off back to your borscht bowl, if you’re a paid propagandist, or not and you’re just a misguided right winger, then go back to absorbing stupid and wrong Fox News opinion articles on this conflict and keep them internalized where that idiocy should stay.

There is something touching in seeing Americans criticize aggressive invaders. Almost as touching as Israelis advocating against illegal land annexation. What’s next, Larry Nassar becomes a spokesperson against child abuse?

Ukraine has been a sovereign, independent and European (pro-Western) country for decades! Please look at "Winter on Fire" (a documentary about the uprising against the pro-Russian government that Putin had installed)...There is an entry in Trotsky's diary where a delegation of Ukrainians came to him and asked for independence. "I said no," he wrote. Ukraine has its own identity, its own language, its own culture, despite extreme efforts by Russia (and before that, the USSR) to extinguish the country and starve the people (literally).

I think it’s a more visceral reaction because, obviously, living in America we’ve seen the images of Trump supporting, poorly informed voters who have worn “better Russian than democrat” t shirts to campaign rallies (look up the image online if you haven’t seen that.

But there is this willful defeatism strain from these types types, where they are cheering on Ukraines demise.

Part of it is because they adulate folks like Orban or Putin. They see America as becoming too woke or whatever and not going to church and they like that brand of Christian authoritarianism iron fist stuff. They would love to see the gays “in their place” and this country led by Christian men only.

So when this dpsht keeps coming on here spreading nonsense about how Russia and Ukraine should negotiate terms and basically sceede territory I just see a weak minded right wing nutbag filled with conservative propaganda.

Not being subjugated / exterminated / colonized by Russia is good for Ukraine. All the more reason they need to fight.

Serious question: how many Ukrainian lives can they afford to lose for this to still stand true?

Why is this a question for Ukraine? Why is the same not a question for Russia? Russia has already lost more troops and equipment in the last 2 years than it has in every single other war combined since the 1970s, to include Afghan, Chechen, Dagestan, Georgia, Syria, African conflicts and everywhere else. The Russians were able to last 20 years with the Afghan war before deciding it was unsustainable but a.) that was with the much greater might and resources, engineering, logistic and manufacturing capacity of the Soviet Union and b. that was with just a fraction of the losses that Russia is now suffering in Ukraine. As such, Russia cannot keep this going indefinitely. They cannot last 20 years. They would be lucky to last 5 years, and we're already 2 years into that.

Ukraine is fighting for its very survival. They are fighting for their identity, their language, their way of life, their will to become a part of the European community, and so much more. But what is Russia fighting for? They are fighting because Putin wills it. Because Russia wants their resources. Because of lies about "Nazis" and other stupidity. Russia's rationale for war is far weaker than Ukraine's rationale for resisting them.

Lmao- Ukraine is fighting for its own language- zelensky had to learn Ukrainian after he became president. What a joke.
Ukraine will really have to fight to impose its language on. …. Ukraine.

Ukraine has no modern history as a nation to speak of, and a fairly shaky linguistic status.

Anericans being sold a bill of goods by the mainstream media that, in one of the great ironies of recent times, is now supporting the war machine.

Not being subjugated / exterminated / colonized by Russia is good for Ukraine. All the more reason they need to fight.

The one exterminating the Ukrainians is Zelensky. The longer this goes on, the more people and territory they will lose. The entire existence of Ukraine is now dependent on the fickle support of western nations.

They can pull the rug out from under them any time they want to, and suddenly Zelensky will get the Noriega/Saddam Hussein/Qaddafi treatment.

Zelensky isn't the one raping toddlers to death. That's the Russians. And you're supporting it.
And no matter how much you repeat the Iraq references, it doesn't erase what Russians have done (and what you're supporting).

That story sure seems to grow worse each time you retell it, can't wait to see how you work an incubator into it. Or maybe the toddler was in the middle of eating a yellow cake.

You may want to dismiss Iraq (and Syria/Afghanistan/Libya/Kosovo/etc.) but plenty of other countries weigh this hypocrisy when deciding which side to back.

We have a BRICS summit coming up. Wonder how many countries will express interest in joining?

I'm not dismissing Iraq, I'm simply saying it does not give the free pass for Russia to commit war crimes that you claim it does.

Right? such an annoying poster (or bot). Ukraine is obviously fighting a much larger invading force, but is putting up an incredible fight. This issue has awoken nato, gotten more countries to join and shown that america is doing the right thing and not supporting Russia’s attempts at land grabs.

Stfu about Iraq. This thread is about Ukraine and how it was invaded.

Funny how you skipped right over the fact that this war is completely unsustainable for Russia before trying to deflect with a completely false attack on Ukrainian identity.

Two fails in one. Congratulations!

Learn some damn history. Ukraine has existed for over 1000 years. Moscow was founded by the Kyivan Rus - Ukrainians. Their trident symbol has been in use and part of their identity since Volodymyr the Great (958 – 15 July 1015)

You are an ignorant idiot.

I'm not dismissing Iraq, I'm simply saying it does not give the free pass for Russia to commit war crimes that you claim it does.

You’re not? Level up please: how much time did you spend on DCUM at the time weeping over Iraqi casualties, infrastructure damage and losses? Truth is, you cannot wait to shrug it off. You certainly don’t want to go to court over it, or to pay damages ever.

It doesn't f'ing matter how much time I gnashed my teeth over Iraq or not. (I wasn't even aware of DCUM at the time anyway). It doesn't give Russia a free pass to commit the war crimes like you think it does. I doubt you spent much time weeping over Iraq yourself.

It doesn’t. And it also doesn’t give YOU a free pass to criticize them without looking like a hypocrite. That is, if you’re American.
