You boys would get a lot farther if you quit the name calling and fact-free rants. As a man in my 50s, I was raised to believe that being a man meant not whining. Maybe you could give that a try? I get that you're mad that you now have to compete with the ladies and you no longer get a free ride because of your gender, but instead of whining on DCUM, suck it up and go look for a better job or build some skills. I really hate the weak-ass man-babies who whine about "misandry." You are an embarrassment to our gender.

+1 also, let's be real.. life is hard for poor people, but it's doubly harder for poor POC and poor women. Being poor sucks, pure and simple, and the way to get out of it is through education.

You're assuming most of the trade jobs involve going into someone's home and they don't. Most plumbers are on new builds or commercial, especially the better ones. Think about it -- you get nice steady easy work for months on end if your job is to install the pipes in a row of cookie cutter houses in a new development. Same job site every day, clock out at 5pm. Compare that to running all around town fixing backed up toilets if you do repairs.

My relative is a finish carpenter and she's never stepped foot in an occupied house for work. Another relative is an HVAC tech -- only does installs on new houses. Another is a backhoe operator -- commercial land and new builds only.

I always knew women were out enrolling men overall, but before a lot of that was driven at shit tier schools. I was shocked to see the UCLA number.

Usually tier 1 schools have good gender balance.

Even Berkeley is 54/46 women. And penn is 52/48 women.

Even sons of higher earning families fall behind their sisters






The observation about the gender gap decreases as you move up in college rankings is key point. Men are earning fewer degrees overall, but the ones who do are earning them from higher ranked schools.

I’ve come to accept that society is geared toward stratifying men’s status more aggressively than women’s. Women are herded toward the middle of the bell curve while men are herded away from the middle and toward the extremes.


It’s better to have an average/median daughter than an average son.

If you are going to have a son you better make sure he is in the top 10% of society otherwise he will have a hard time this century.
