Most overrated actresses ever.
Anonymous wrote:Clooney as Batman is a good example of Hollywood just thinking that an actor who is hot can and should be cast in any big blockbuster. That was sort of the height of Clooney-craze. I adore him and think he's great, but it's sort of like casting Carey Grant as Superman ... .yes, he has the looks, but he's got an underlying vibe that just isn't working for the character. Christian Bale might actually be my favorite Batman -- he gives off the vibe of someone who's been thru some sh-t (but maybe that's because I remember him from Empire of the Sun, which was a little traumatizing for me).

I’m surprised no one has said Leo in Titanic. He was too young and it always slightly ruined the movie for me. Not believable.
I know. By the time the water started pouring in I was hoping his character would die sooner rather than later.
Funny...I always thought Kate Winslet, though lovely, looked too old for this part. His character was meant to be young and boyish.
Agreed. I liked both Kate and Leo in Titanic, but there were scenes where I thought she looked old enough to be his mother.

Welp. That's it. Thread done.
For those out the loop, who it this and what movie?
That is Mr. Freeze from the trainwreck that is Batman and Robin. It's the one with George Clooney, who is lucky he had a career after that mess.
George Clooney wasn’t good but still managed to be one of the better things in that mess.

+1.
Hollywood whitewashing is insane nowadays. There are so many decent Asian actors who are not given a chance it's just criminal.
Add Tilda Swinton in Dr. Strange, Natalie Portman in Annihilation, Matt Damon turning The Great Wall into a stereotypical "white man saves China" caricature, and Benedict Cumberbatch in the Star Trek reboot all as examples of Hollywood anti-Asian bigotry.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Speaking of Natalie Portman, she was so unbelievable to me in the movie Closer. She was supposed to be a stripper, but had a childlike presence acting next to Jude Law, Julia Roberts and Clive Barker.
Yeah, but at least she looks good.
So top picks so far:
Julia Roberts as Tinker Bell
Hayden Christensen as A. Skywalker
Keanu in any movie other than action roles (Matrix, Speed, Wick) or dumb-s$&t roles (Bill & Ted, Parenthood)
Meryl Streep in non-drama roles
Will Ferrell as the lead (great as a side kick, but never, ever cast him as the lead).
And Kevin Hart, Dustin Hoffman, or Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher.
No. Did you just make up your own list? What happened to Jack Black in The Holiday? Josh Hutcherson in The Hunger Games movies?
Will Ferrell can absolutely be the lead: Anchorman, Elf, Talladega Nights, etc.
And Meryl Streep can absolutely do comedy: Devil Wears Prada, It's Complicated, Adaptation, Death Becomes Her, etc.

I still can't believe that film won so many awards. They basically just gave him credit for the huge special effects.
The only Leo films I have enjoyed him in were The Departed and Catch Me If You Can. He's generally a reason for me NOT to see a movie.
I thought he was good in Once Upon a Time.
