So now, Dr. Hutchings wants to live outside the city in addition to sending his child to private school? Surely, as a TCW graduate he knew the snake pit he was going to manage? Every other superintendent candidate did and wouldn't touch the job.

Reading comprehension is important. See the bolded.

Then read the next sentence. "...his family was receiving threats." Apparently that is acceptable to you. It isn't to me so I guess we have vastly different value systems. It saddens me that you are a neighbor in my beloved Alexandria.

It sounds like if you don't want a Hutchings echo chamber and people who will manage the superintendent, then Willie Bailey isn't your guy.

What is Bailey's experience with ACPS that he can speak so glowingly of it and Hutchings?

Who is running who has a management background? PreAnn Johnson and Tammy Ignacio. Who else? I normally am not too involved in the board and rarely vote for the school board members. This year, I am voting.

PreAnne Johnson and Tammy Ignacio are status quo. We need people who will manage the superintendent. You don't have to be a teacher or former administrator to be on the school board. In fact, I think ACPS would benefit from people on the school board who aren't educators but understand public schools.

I like Michelle Rief. I think she is responsive to parents and she asks hard questions. I don't always agree with her, but I find her fair, balanced, and responsive to constituents. She is an ACPS parent and I'm leaning heavily to only voting for people who have kids in ACPS or had kids in ACPS. I don't know much about the new candidates in A except Willie Bailey.
