I don’t think anyone hates Metro. Just no one respects Metro. The DA/GA loses credibility as a league when you let such a horrible club into the league. It shows they don’t have standards.

BRYC cough, cough, BRYC cough cough

FCV has been the strongest club in northern Virginia for some time, look at the college recruits and YNT players

Such a pointless discussion, both clubs strong in some age groups weak in others, move on.

Seems to me some talent can come from a team not named McLean or FCV. VDA is newer and based on the lower U-ages performance, doing very well attracting and building quality girls.

This post is silly. Yes Ali Krieger played for PWSI but the current coaching staff had nothing to do with that. Actually Ali might be older then the VDA ECNL Director. It is like the other thread about Mia Hamm and BRYC. It is great history but the current coaches have nothing to do with that.

VDA parent or coach really has an issue with the McLean comments about them being great at the older age groups. It is really hitting a nerve.

Agree that things change. Current landscape is somewhat fractured across multiple clubs now more so than 3-4 years ago. Sone clubs on the rise, others seem to be taking on a little water as the situation changes. I think McLean will continue to do very well at the older ages because their coaches are quality and the program has earned the respect of college coaches by sending girls who have been successful at the next level for many years. But things do change and there is now more competition for McLean to deal with on the girls side.

I’m always amazed at how people refuse to accept that things change. Someone moved that darn cheese....

Even clubs like Loudoun, whom everyone loves to trash on this board, has one great team at U14 who can compete and win against McLean’s very strong U14 team that is in 3rd place in the division. Ditto for VDA at the U15 level.

Also, what happens when Clyde Watson eventually retires? McLean doesn’t really have anyone to fill his shoes. He was grooming a younger coach to take his place who left this year, so then who?

Who? HM?

Stop trying to dash the McLean supporters hopes. They need everyone to believe that isn’t so or they won’t be able to recruit.

I don't know much about MU other than I have seen several players across several age groups leave the club during in the past year and more are looking to leave. The teams aren't competitive and talent is leaving. If there was a CDS being sold for securities in MU, the price for that CDS would reach the same level of CDS for Lehman before it went under.

I always question how someone could ever possibly know any of this.
