Can people who want DL just choose DL and stop feeling the need to force other people into it just so their kids aren’t left out of something? These over the top-long winded posts are getting out of hand.

I can’t believe his bad math is going to be all over the place and probably have more influence on the back to school discussion than anything coming from the CDC. It’s a textbook example of how to spread misinformation and lies.

Thats crap! NO ONE is getting a WIN here. Stop fooling yourself if you have been made to believe you are “winning” by more kids choosing DL. Neither option is a win. You have 1 giant school system splitting in two. FCPS will be running two different school systems, neither will come close to being good.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:+1 people cannot even read his second paragraph “ You’ll get no presumption of expertise here. This is how I am looking at and considering this issue and the positions people have taken in my feed and in the hundred or so FCPS discussion groups that have popped up.” states he is NOT an expert, this is his opinion. Make your own choice from YOUR opinion. Neither option is a good choice. Both options are going to have issues. You need to make the best choice for your family. If you are reading that there is evidence that this virus is not spread by children, find that evidence from a reputable scientific publication citing research done in the US. Make sure this finding is not just a “hint” of evidence. Do your research properly.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:SURPRISE, SURPRISE JOE MORICE WORKS FOR THE NATIONAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION

So what? He shared his opinion, he’s not claiming to be all knowing or an expert. It’s interesting that people are complaining about him so much for being melodramatic while avoiding some of the undisputed points he makes. The number of deaths v flu deaths for an example 🙄

again, people understand that he is not an expert, but I do think everyone have a moral obligation to not spread completely false information and the #302 number is completely wrong. He if fully aware that this number is incorrect but is too arrogant to change it. And sadly many of the people reading this crap are too stupid to realize that number is completely wrong. But hey if it convinces more parents to keep their kids home it's a win for those of us who plan to send our kids back to the classroom.

I work in a clinic and no one seems to care anymore about the risks my colleagues and I have taken, nor about what’s happening to our kids.
For the people saying “well if you have to send your kid then just send them” after saying “PEOPLE ARE GOING TO DIE!!!”—think about what you’re saying here! Because the PP’s kid has a disability, or because a kid has parents working in restaurants or hospitals, our kids get to be the guinea pigs for this plan? How incredibly cruel.
And yes, there is actual science to refute the OP’s cited numbers. Yes, he is incredibly privileged to have a choice, not that he acknowledges this at any time in his post. And yes, my kids and the kids of all the ICU and ER nurses and doctors I know are going back into the classroom this fall, because we don’t have an alternative and no one has cared to offer us one.
What have you been doing for childcare since March?

Well, at least he was honest about one thing.
