She is a liar, makes inappropriate public remarks (see her testimony on behalf of MCCPTA stating that the organization was behind the boundary analysis, which it was not - when called out, she issued a private apology, to the MCCPTA list serv, but not public and not to the Board of Education), and wants to turn the decision making over to the SJW teenagers (not the majority, just the most vocal). Gives lip service to the Black and Brown coalition, but hasn't done one thing to actually support these students.

Sunil is an academic. In his head. Has zero understanding of how MCPS budgets work or how to make things happen in the big machine that is MCPS. I hope he can learn.

Unfortunately the extremists got all the attention, with these 2 going forward for At Large, when there were better candidates (NOT talking about SA). But we are stuck with these 2. My vote will go to Sunil, as he would do the least damage to our already sinking school system.

From what I gather from more objective sources than anonymous DCUM posts either would be great!

Yup. Two good candidates.

Lynne will do whatever this group wants:
https://www.mocoforchange.org/ It is a student group that started out for common sense gun legislation after the school shooting in FL, but now champions diversity as the most important factor in determining school boundaries. She has ceded her time to students from this group during testimony numerous times as MCCPTA President, and continues to say we need to listen to the students more because they know what is best.

Sunil will continie to advocate for student mental health (he has run a country-wide forum on mental health for MCPS students for a few years now). He will make decisions on what he thinks is best for Montgomery County.

Anyone else have anything to offer on their differences?

Let's discuss Harris and Dasgupta instead, since they will actually be on the ballot.

No, it's objectively dumb. There is no "mafia." Plus Silver Spring is most of the east county.

I’m sorry you’re too dumb not to realize she didn’t mean it literally.

How you lose elections ^^^^

I wasn’t even running for election.

Indeed. But other people were.

^^^or persuading them that they want it too.

You know, the kind of stuff that gets people to vote you.

The what? Seriously. If the people who say this, put half the effort into actually campaigning and persuading people, that they put into hating on candidates who win elections, then they might actually win some elections.

That’s a really naive perspective. People in my area (yes one of the Ws) put a lot of effort into campaigning for what we want. Unfortunately we aren’t as large of a base as silver spring/takoma Park and haven’t been as politically active in the past. Given there is district wide voting, it will be very difficult to out vote the silver spring/TP wishes.
After seeing the divide in the county during this election, I think MCPS is too large of a district with too many competing needs. I know it probably won’t happen, but I’d love to see it divided up.

Considering putting more effort into campaigning for things you want that other people want too.
