I was uncertain of it in the first 2-3 episodes, but it got really good and is one of my favorite all time kdramas after having watched a fair number You may have to go with some of the humor at first - it seems a bit different in the beginning on what type of show it is. But the writer is really brilliant on his cultural and historical references, imagery and social commentary. A lot of the performances are well done and it becomes a true ensemble cast ( which was not initially apparent).

I read it still is one of Netflix top 5 dramas worldwide and can see why.

Btw - I didn’t really like descendants of the sun either

Park Seo Joon is a gifted actor. He plays such a different character in the "Parasite" than in "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim," or "Itaewon Class." The former is so cheesy but he pulls off the character so well. I don't think his English skills are that good for an English movie. It must be in Korean.

I don't know what he's speaking in the movie but its being filmed in America apparently, the article I read mentioned he was coming here to film. I would assume English for American movies but maybe he's a Korean superhero/villain.

Maybe he'll dye his hair a fun KPop color!

PP who posted about Navillera. Yes, Move to Heaven is very good, too. I thought Navillera was really special, though. Both dramas are well-worth watching. Similar feel to both.

If you want light and fluffy and fun, Lovestruck in the City. Worth watching just for Ji Chang Wook, who is beyond gorgeous. I think it's 16 or 17 episodes, but only half hour each. Entertaining but not so compelling you can't stop watching.

If you want something less fluffy, watch Navillera. It is such a beautiful little drama, about the relationship between a struggling young male ballet dancer and a 70 year old man who has always loved ballet and decides to finally take lessons so he can "soar" at least once in his life. It's so funny and moving and sweet. I can't say enough good things about it. Although it's a very different kind of story, I love it as much as Crash Landing. Only 12 episodes, an hour each.

Thanks. I’ll try this. And yes, I really liked “Lovestruck in the City” because it’s short and Ji Chang Wook is beautiful and a good actor. Hoping for the light and fluffy escapism.

I’ve watched several episodes of Shtisel and no, it doesn’t have the same appeal. The lead actor in Shtisel is very handsome and it’s a talented cast for sure. It’s not my cup of tea .

Which show isn’t your cup of tea?
