Why? Because he’s a jerk? Aren’t most politicians?

#Trump2020, and I do hope Dems regain their senses by 2024.
This is where I come down. Couldn't vote for him in 2016, thought the economy would tank and he'd be in way over his head. I'm concerned that he drives so many establishment types away, but undeniable that we are doing much better overall. So he has my vote.
Exactly. I hope the Dems can come back to their senses in 2024, but for now this ‘lost’ voter is #Trump2020 all the way.
I didn’t vote for him in 2016, and really didn’t even give it a consideration. Now, he’s got my vote based on the economy and illegal immigration. Two important issues for me as a voter.
I don’t care about his obnoxious personality. I don’t care about his Tweets. And I have lots of family overseas, who actually do like him and respect his aggressiveness. (Different cultures see this kind of male aggression and nationalism as more of a positive - I don’t agree, but it’s not true to say that the rest of the world doesn’t respect the US.)
Thanks for nothing. Your ignorance and those of people like you is destructive for this country. Not hyperbole. You buy the right wing propaganda about immigration. You don't care if the leader of our country is a corrupt jerk as long as your bank account is okay. Disgusting.
Nope. It's not propaganda when I see what illegal immigration is doing to my own community and schools. It's a concern. It may not be a concern for you because you're a wealthy Democrat. But, for some of us, illegal immigration affects our lives on a daily basis.
And, I voted for Hillary, even though I also thought she was a corrupt jerk.
Actually, I am not a wealthy person. My neighborhood is full of recent immigrants. These are my neighbors. I would like to know specifically what concerns you have that you think Trump will address. Honestly asking.
Wait, I’m a democrat and I have to admit that Dems do this all the time: when someone says “illegal immigrant,” they think the person is talking about “immigrants.” Like PP just did above. We are a country of immigrants, so this is not the issue.
Th pp IS talking about immigrants. Literally none of the candidates are for illegal immigrants. And when someone says "I see what illegal immigration is doing to my own community and schools" they are talking about IMMIGRANTS. Believe it or not, they just know that they came here from another country, and their kids are English learners. They lump them in with people who have come illegally. Most likely their neighbors did not come illegally.
Same for the people who have no problem with family separation at the border. They think the people are here illegally. THEY ARE NOT.
I’m the PP you’re responding to.
I actually don’t think this is true. People separate illegal immigrants from legal immigrants, and treat them as different categories. In fact, many legal immigrants don’t like illegal immigrants.
No. When someone is complaining that their school has English language learners or their neighborhood has so many illegal immigrants, THEY DON'T KNOW THAT. THEY HAVE NO IDEA. They have a problem with IMMIGRANTS, and notably ones who are non-white and don't speak english at home. Schools DO NOT ASK for immigration standing. Neighbors don't know if their neighbor is here legally. And people have zero problems with immigrants who came from english speaking countries who overstayed their visas and now are here illegally.
Over 100,000 CHILDREN OF LEGAL IMMIGRANTS have been separated from their parents at the border.
Not true. I have a problem with those immigrants as well. I'm a legal immigrant, so I understand how arduous the process is. I don't care where the illegal immigrants come from. They are still here illegally and the US government has every right to do something about it.

This is blatantly untrue. There are lots of candidates and people who are FOR illegal immigration. People from business owners, all the way down to ESOL teachers benefit from the influx of illegal immigration.
Construction companies want the cheap labor to continue. Bethesda housewives want their cheap housekeepers. My neighbor is an ESOL teacher and she commented that she switched to ESOL because of the better hours, and she knows that she is in demand and needed in our school district. Hell, there are entire non-profits who have build (corrupt) businesses on the backs on illegal immigration - e.g. CASA de Maryland.
There are more people in the US who want illegal immigration and benefit from it than who disapprove of it. Otherwise, how else does it flourish?
And yes, those of us who live amongst illegal immigrants know their immigration status. It's not some nebulous idea, as it is for those of you whose neighborhoods are devoid of illegal immigrants.
Do tell. You know this... how? Did you go door to door to conduct document checks? Do your neighbors introduce themselves at block parties, etc. by saying "Hi, I'm Jose and I'm an Illegal Immigrant BWAAAHAHAHAHA!"? Did someone take out a billboard listing them? Are there regularly scheduled ICE raids on your block?
Or do you hear an accent, maybe see a skin tone different than yours, and just ASSume?

1. Only for US citizens. It encourages legal immigration towards obtaining citizenship.
2. If you are in jail, you are not eligible. It encourages good behavior and reduces crime.
3. No marriage penalty. Married couple gets $2000.
4. No income limits. It encourages work as opposed to some welfare programs having strict income limit and reporting requirements.
5. Though kids are not eligible, once they turn 18, they will have their own money. It encourages financial literacy.
6. Poor people with no access to bank accounts will finally have their own.
Where does the money come from?
$12000 per year for every US citizen.
And how do we prove US citizenship? Can see lots of fraud/ID theft occurring.
We have a $20 trillion economy. The UBI will "cost" about 12%, 2.4 T. Money doesn't disappear. They recycle in the economy. In Yang's economy, 12% of total spending will be citizens' freedom dividend spending. He "pays" for this by a 10% of value added tax (VAT), and the overlap of existing government spending. Most countries have a VAT. With VAT, big tech companies like Amazon and Facebook have no way of avoiding being taxed. Right now they pay next to zero in taxes.
Our state department does a good job of issuing passports. Validating citizenships will not be that hard.
Why do this though? Won’t a $1,000 a month paycheck just increase consumer spending? Is that really what our environment needs?
This
How can anyone who claims to be pro-environment think this is a good idea? People will spend more to buy useless sh&t that they don’t need. It will definitely lead to an increase in consumer spending. Not a positive for the environment.
Lol, single ply for all!
I know you're not being serious, but, if you were, then I would say that increasing the purchasing power of the poorest Americans is the best way to decrease wasteful consumption because it allows them to buy in bulk, plan ahead and purchase higher quality less disposable items.

There’s no way I’ll vote for Trump, but I wasn’t thrilled about voting for Clinton in 2016.
Why? Because he’s a jerk? Aren’t most politicians?
Because he’s dishonest? Aren’t most politicians dishonest?
Ask yourself how things are going for you now and if you feel that his policies are working or not working.
I had to close my business this past year because tariffs were killing it. So I’d say his policies aren’t working for me.
Curious general type of business because my labor intensive business related to housing maintenance is doing very well.
Lemme guess: You religiously use e-Verify to confirm the status of your employees?[y/quote]
Use it as needed for new employees but most employees are citizens or have Green Cards. We have gotten many people through citizenship classes as and have 11 in various stages of the process. You probably do the same way with your employees. Only people I worry about are the four DACA students who worked for us full time last summer and pick up hours around their studies.

+ a million.
Most Americans live better today than in 2016.

Also wondering. PP, what type of business?
