The tax fraud is not that big of a deal. He will simply move to another country as not paying your US taxes is only a crime in the US.

Vance has almost certainly had all the info in these returns for a while. At a minimum, Trump would filed NY state returns with all of the same shady valuations that are at issue in the federal ones. Actually getting them was more a political statement than a legal one. He wouldn’t have kept this investigation going if there was nothing there.

That's just not true. He could not even charge him with obstruction of justice, and Mueller's stated reason is that there was no opportunity for Trump to adjudicate the charge because DOJ memo prevents prosecution.

No, he wouldn't have. He said a president can't be indicted while in office, but can be charged after leaving.
