Maybe he's going to resign soon? Pence is negotiating now.

Exactly, I know some members of Trumps base and they won't know the difference, as long as he declares a "win" of some kind.
He could even take the same compromise out that Congress came up with before Christmas, declare it "his" idea, and call it a win, and his base won't know the difference.
How elitist of you. My bet is that you don't actually know any of "Trump's base" but are basing your comments on the stereotypes you carry.
And, for those of you who say, "Walls don't work".....
Don't you find it just a bit hypocritical that before Obama moved into his Kalorama home, the first thing he had done was to create fencing around his home?
Not to mention all the other politicians that have walls or fences or barriers around their properties...........

As someone who is greatly affected by the shutdown, I kinda want him to do this. We could go back to work without Nancy caving at all. He can simply sign the EO and then immediately resurrect his “Hillary’s email!” cry to distract his base so that he will never have to actually bother building the wall. This should get us through until resignation, impeachment, or the election. Then the democrats can reverse the whole thing and come up with innovative 21st century border security ideas.

I do wish Mexico COULD fund it (lol), but that's a dream.
Give him the damn money and let's move on. After this he's not a 2020 candidate!
Ha. That makes him a stronger 2020 candidate.
And that's the key of this whole mess -- 2020 politics.
$5 billion is peanuts in the grand scheme of the budget. But Democrats can't risk to give Trump a win to boost his 2020 chance. If Trump folds this time, he will be dead to a big chunk of his base in 2020.
This shutdown could last a long time. I don't see a way out unless each side's base flip.

I don't watch much politics, if I understand correctly Republicans rejected the bill that included DACA? Why is this not more talked about right now? 25 billion dollars that Democrats offered and Republicans refused.
