name 3 examples of a republican policy that helped people and didn't just help a few and screw the rest
You must be joking.
1) Deregulation and corporate tax reform to get the economy growing at 3% and delivering more and better jobs for everyone in the private sector (like, what, 100 million people?)
2) Getting rid of the crazy "Dear Colleague" regulations concerning rape in college campuses that stole the presumption of innocence and essential safeguards from over a million students...because they were male.
3) New laws favoring generic drugs to lower drug prices
You can also argue than a stronger military and the "new NAFTA" are going to help many people.
And the list continues.
LOL. Yes, let’s help the rapey frat bros. They really need help.![]()
I see you have learned from Goebbels how to label, scapegoat, dehumanize and defame others.
I can't believe the PPs that think men need MORE protection after years and years and years of women not being taken seriously when they have tried to report rape, assault and harassment.
Finally calling men to the carpet for bad behavior is not labeling, not scapegoating, not dehumanizing, and not defaming. It's called justice.
I suspect the men who are so up in arms about recent events have reason to be scared. Times up scumbags.
Let us know how you feel about that when your husband, son, brother, father, or friend is falsely accused and no one is interested in hearing his side of the story. Look, it's clear you hate all men and want to see them burn in hell whether or not they committed any crime, but thankfully, civilized society is onto nutcases like you. Due process will be afforded to ALL. Sorry to disappoint you and your fever dream of revenge.
- A wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend to men.
I am the PP you quoted. I haven't taken part in any of the previous responses to your post.
When I see a response like yours, it is difficult to believe it is genuine and not the work of a troll. It is difficult to take it or you seriously when it would indicate you lack any common sense or basic abilities to comprehend what you read. It is difficult to understand why you would think and respond the way you do when it flies in the face of everything that is known about harassment and assault cases against women. Our justice system already has many protections in place for any person who is accused of a crime.
I am a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter. I am a friend to men AND women. The chances that the wonderful men in my life will be falsely accused is very, very low. On the other hand, the chances that the wonderful women in my life will have already or in the future experience harassment, assault or even rape, not to mention other negative effects of sexism that are very much present in our society, is astronomically higher. If you are truly and honestly more concerned about the men in your life being falsely accused of a sexual crime than you are for justice for the women who actually experience sexual crimes, then I fear you are a friend to no one.
NP. Thank goodness for DeVos’ reforms which are, on balance, reasonable. Yes, the chances are very small that sons will be falsely accused. But there’s a chance nonetheless. And virtually any privileged mommy here would spare no cost or leave any stone unturned if her snowflake son convincingly maintained his innocence. White women of privilege should also be advocates for minoriity men who are falsely accused.
Did you read all of the victim protections she removed? You are disgusting.
No lie. These women who are more worried for the remote possibility that their son will be falsely accused (!!!!!!!!!!!WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) than for victimized women are so completely frustrating.
You should educate yourself on the process that goes on in many colleges these days. Men can be accused and expelled from school for nothing. If a man is accused they will often:
1) Not be allowed to represented by counsel
2) Not be allowed to present evidence in their own defense or call witnesses
3) Not be allowed to question their accuser
4) Be convicted by a kangaroo student group that is entirely biased against them on the "preponderance of the evidence" standard
By the same token, you can find a devastating number of stories of women whose complaints were ignored and swept under the rug to protect the school or who were otherwise re-vicitimized by the administrators at their school.
The fact is, cases of harassment or assault should be handled by the local authorities, not colleges/universities, so that the rights of all parties can be protected.
And to be clear, the number of women who have suffered VASTLY outpaces the number of men.
Actually men are 2 x more likely to be a victim of violant assault vs women. Also if you look at the statistics coming out of prisons more men are raped in the US vs women. The numbers are like 216,000 prisoners are raped per year vs 90,000 rapes reported outside of federal prisons. There is also evidence that male college students are sexually assaulted at a slighty high rate vs female as shown in surveys where both sexs are include and the acts are listed- ie groping, forced kissing, etc. I think it is wrong to replace one type of sexism for another.
+1.
Color me impressed -- someone with a grasp of facts and stats, here on DCUM!

I'm Democratic leaning with plenty of Democrat friends, and I don't know a single Democrat that is promoting these items on this list: open borders (no we want sane, streamlined entry), confiscate guns (we want sane gun laws eg background checks, waiting periods, mental health, why on earth do citizens need semi automatics?), condemn the police (no, but find a way to deal with all the brutality/racism and unnecessary police killings that go unpunished just because they protect their own). Smaller defense force - the military industrial complex that Eisenhower warned of is at an outrageously wasteful level and continues to grow - why not spend more wisely, invest some of that bloat in infrastructure and space exploration which leads to new inventions etc. More welfare? Ha, we just believe employees deserve a living wage and top management is grossly overpaid and stock buybacks as a result of even more tax breaks are ridiculous.
But number one is healthcare for all - yes, we will claim that one. If you did your research, you'd know that countries providing it (despite the inevitable issues) have a MUCH higher standard of living than we do here in the US. Our life expectancy continues to decline - for many reasons including that big pharma incentivizes opioid overuse. For profit medicine with too many middlemen is destroying this country. The US standard of living ranking falls lower and lower annually.

My post is sincere. I think the modern GOP is basically evil so I am having a hard time understanding how someone can still be a Republican if they are a decent person.
You are a disgusting troll, OP. A vile, mean-spirited, ignorant, America-hating, nasty troll!

And, the modern Dems are not?
Medicare for All
Open Borders
Sanctuary cities
Confiscate guns (see Swallwell's latest)
Condemn the police
Smaller defense force
Higher taxes for job making businesses
More welfare--even though it discourages work
etc

My post is sincere. I think the modern GOP is basically evil so I am having a hard time understanding how someone can still be a Republican if they are a decent person.

In many places the patriarchy is old rich black guys.
You are anti-white if you target just a group based on their race, while ignoring the others.
Please look at the current members of Congress. How well does it represent the citizens of the US in terms of gender, race, and heritage?
50.8% women?
13% black?
18% Hispanic?
If not, there are more old, white guys who need to be kicked to the curb.
Well, please look at the local government of dozens of cities and report back. The patriarchy is indeed old rich black guys.

I don't think all Republicans are horrible people but I also think almost all Republican political actions are horrible
How can I make sense of this?
Just when I thought DCUM couldn’t get any more absurd. OP, you are not doing your fellow liberals any favors here.![]()
name 3 examples of a republican policy that helped people and didn't just help a few and screw the rest
