On film, you have Trump demanding more border security, which includes his wall, you have Trump promising to shut down part of the government if he does not get the security requested, and Schumer and Pelosi saying that what we have now is good enough. ON FILM.
Brilliant move on Trump's part
I didn't read "The Art of the Deal," but I have read other books on negotiating and all of those books say you have to offer something to get something. He wanted a wall. He wanted a wall for two years. He's needed Democrats in the Senate for two years. And in all that time, he has never one single thing in exchange for a wall. It was painfully obvious at this meeting. All he offered was a threat to shutdown. Instead of offering carrots, he offered to smack all three of them with a stick, wait two weeks, and let Pelosi smack him back. What a deal!

Fascinating how two people can watch the same meeting and arrive at two different conclusions.
You think he owned the libs. Others see him getting owned. I see both perspectives on Twitter, as well as here.
Did you watch the meeting live?

Trump thinks he has the votes in the House, Pelosi diesagreed. And it looks like we may find out who’s right. Jake Sherman of Politico reporting that the House is moving toward putting the $5 billion wall bill on the floor.
If they knew that they had the votes, they would vote.
Time for the GOP to put up or shut up.
“I’m told by senior House GOP sources that NO $5 billion wall funding bill will reach the floor this week. Republicans don’t have enough members in town to get this passed.”

Don't members of Congress get summoned back into town for important votes?

Look at the transcript from yesterday and read any of the dozens of statements Dems have put out. Dems are happy to give money for real border security. But they won’t give one penny for trump’s stupid wall.
Fat Donnie is the reason we can’t have progress on border security.
From what I've read, the Democrats are offering temporary, reversible actions. They are opposed to a permanent solution, like a border wall.
A wall isn't a permanent solution.
A far better use of resources would be to: 1) beef up the immigration court system so that cases can be adjudicated more quickly. That there are illegal immigrants and asylum seekers lingering in limbo for years is ridiculous; and 2) step up prosecutions of those hiring illegal immigrants. Without jobs, there is no reason to come to America.
Exactly. The wall is a stupid, EXPENSIVE symbol. Money would be more effective elsewhere.

I thought mexico was paying for the wall. Why did we allow him to change this narrative?! Dems need to have this be there #1 talking point.
