My husband and I have attractive colleagues. I'm attractive (face, height and figure) and so is DH and we set boundaries with coworkers. Last year I had to work late every single night with a VERY attractive coworker. We had a deadline and it took 2 months of working late together to get it out the door on time. I know his wife through work events, she's nice but we aren't friends. I had heard she was jealous through office gossip. I made damn sure I was as professional and platonic as possible with co-worker. He is flirtatious but I cut it right up by having a conversation with him about it. I would have NEVER sent a text calling him handsome or gorgeous. I sent things like: "We need to follow up on XYZ so bring the ABC brief" if I needed to reach him via text. This lady is breaking boundaries and that is what is setting your alarm bells off. And you are correct to follow your instinct.

Anyways. Why not invite her and her husband out on a double date with you guys? It can give you a chance to establish more of a relationship with her, to observe your husband and her together, and even to see what her relationship with her husband is like.


IDK female runner here. I run with guys sometimes. If you are a woman who can run 8ish minute miles, you can find a lot of guys who will run with you. Sometimes I like running with a guy friend because he speeds up my pace on days I want to go harder.

Tell your DH that you've seen the "gorgeous", etc. texts and explain it makes you uncomfortable. Ask that he let the running mate know this.


Avoid looking insecure. Talk about the "gorgeous" thing, but to discuss how strange it is, and see what he says, don't raise it as a way to tell him how to talk to his friend.
