Not that class exists for this WH, but why, instead of defending the remarks, not just say that the POTUS deeply regrets if any of his remarks offended the grieving family. He is very grateful for their courageous service, and he honors every American who gives their life serving this country.
Sanders could have read it from the podium, so there's not even any possibility of Trump messing it up.
Instead, she doubles down and calls a grieving mother a liar...good grief!!

I tried to stay off this cesspool of a protest site linked to some BS but, after the 15 telephone calls I got after one post within 30 minutes I find it hard to believe this wasn’t a set up: media here clamored for the call. The call was made the call was criticized.
$18 billion isn’t going to help. Your people don’t have what it takes.
Am I the only person who doesn't understand this post?
The part of that post that confuses me the most is the part about phone calls. That poster posted on DCUM (anonymously as most of you), then received some strange phone calls at her home and somehow decided her DCUM post triggered the phone calls. She actually had me remove her post. Now she is pointing again. I assume she took her phone off the hook.
Paranoia will destroy ya.

I think we should all get way more outraged about endless war than we do about which platitudes are ok to use with respect to those dying in the endless wars.
I don't know what to say to this. Are you a Russian troll?
Otherwise, your response, and Trump's is inexcusable.
I know parents who have lost a child. Do you? Have you lost a child?
Words cannot express my outrage, both at you, PP, and at Trump.
Words really are of limited power, aren't they? The prettiest words in the world won't bring back any dead children.
You're an evil, evil person. Seriously.

Asked whether the White House had a recording of Trump's call with the widow, Myeshia Johnson, Sanders said it didn't.
Wilson claimed in interviews that Trump crassly told Johnson on the call that her husband, Sgt. La David T. Johnson, “knew what he signed up for.” Wilson also said the widow was dismayed that Trump didn't even seem to know Johnson's name. David Johnson's mother confirmed the account to The Washington Post, but Trump disputes it.
While declining to talk about the specifics of their conversation, Sanders assured that it was “completely respectful, very sympathetic” and that Trump “expressed .?.?. condolences.” She also appeared to confirm at least one claim Wilson had made, saying, “Just because the president says ‘your guy’ doesn’t mean he doesn’t know his name.”
Sanders cited the presence of chief of staff John Kelly when asked for proof that Trump did not tell the widow of Army Sgt. La David Johnson that "he knew what he signed up for."
“No," she said when asked if there is a recording. "But there were several people in the room from the administration on the call," including Kelly, she said.
Sanders later added that Kelly, whose son was killed in acton in 2010, supported the president's comments.
"Gen. Kelly was present for the call and thought it was completely appropriate. He thought the call was respectful and he thought that the president did the best job he could under those circumstances to offer condolences on the part of the country," she said.
Gen Kelly must be hating his decision to join this clown car.

This WH coms staff is really incompetent.
Disagree. It's to Trump's advantage to have everyone fighting about what he said on a phone call and whether or not it was appropriate. It provides a distraction.
Sure thing, 17 dimensional chess. The man who can't remember to sign an executive order, who can't string three coherent words together, who is having daily temper tantrums and can't accomplish a thing, is being super strategic in this one instance.
Or, Occam's Razor: they are totally incompetent.
Well, somehow Trump won the election with his incompetent team, so there's that.
