They dont take any responsibility for their own lives, blaming everything on their upbringing and parents. Its so pathetic. I love Randall though, even when he geeks out. He hit the jackpot when he married Beth. She is amazing. Probably the best character on the show IMO. I also love Rebecca.

*circa 1997 is when Jack died.

I was just glad that the guy Kate slept with didn't do anything cruel to her. I thought for sure he was going to humiliate her in front of his friends at the bar. Relieved that didn't happen.
I think they should have made Randall and Beth's house a different, smaller and more modest one than their present-day home. Obviously, they're very wealthy *now,* but it would have been more believable if they weren't living in that home in their 20's.
I thought it was interesting that they showed how shallow Kevin really was. He was quite willing to sell his friend out for that role! Glad he's grown into a more mature person.
Jack and his constant, over-the-top enthusiasm is really starting to grate on my nerves. He's waaaaay too "fun dad."
I'm continually impressed by Mandy Moore's acting. She's really doing a great, very believable job. She's usually the one who makes me teary!

Yes, what does she do?

All of this, but especially the bolded! I was sure the guy Kate was sleeping with was going to humiliate her. It sucks that he was married but I'm glad he was into her (as weird as that sounds).
I liked that they showed Kevin being a jerk- it's nice to see these characters are not perfect and have real flaws. Also, it can't be *that* shocking that an actor would behave this way, right? I mean it's Hollywood- very cutthroat culture.

Anonymous wrote:So now we know Jack died in 2000ish? Since last night's episode was in 2008. That would have made the kids around 20. I thought they looked a little younger than that when they showed Kate saying "Where's Kevin?" in a past episode, indicating she had to find him and tell him about the death. But maybe that was something else or maybe I'm just old and don't remember what 20 year olds look like.
Grandma Rebecca definitely became more likable last night.
