This does NOTHING to change the fact that black people suffer systematic racism, and that minorities are the primary victims of hate crimes.
Totally untrue. Over 90% of violent crime between blacks and whites involves blacks attaching whites. If hate crime charges were brought fairly, only a tiny percentage would involve black victims.
The shitstorm, as you call it, should have happened. But I assume that these four white football players raping their disabled black teammate is just boys being boys.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:The torturers were screaming "f Donald Trump" and "f white people."
Can you imagine the absolute shitstorm if it were 4 white kids torturing a disabled black kid, yelling f Obama and f white people? We would never hear the end if it. I imagine that thus will blow over in a few days and it will never be talked about it again.

More generally, Trump has failed to utterly denounce the alt-right groups that have so openly supported him and spouted racist rhetoric. He, Trump, has spewed his own racism, xenophobia, and misogyny. So, yeah, I'm underwhelmed by your outrage. This is a horrific crime by some horrible people. And I hope the victim recovers.
Is SPLC going to catalog this incident? Or was this just "kids being kids." ??!?
Of course not

There's a significant number of people who think it's okay to be physically aggressive if they perceive someone as a Trump supporter. I've seen it on these pages multiple times.
+1
Here's an example. On the thread about Ivanke and her kids being confronted on an airplane, multiple people made comments about throwing a pie in her face or worse.
And yet, that's just people typing. Not real physical aggression or assault.
You support it with your words, cheer it through your anger and thereby are as guilty as the actual aggressor. Shame on you. Your silence in not condoning it is acceptance.
It was an election. Trump won. But his voters have been demonized and turned into monsters. It's terrible and wrong.

Just checked their site. It's not there (no surprise).
And it's not getting a lot of coverage in the major newspapers either.

Or not. Screw his racism.
Poor white lives matter to.

The only time there is a lengthy discussion is if there are disagreements. Threads where everyone agree don't last long.
You believe this is a racially motivated hate crime, I also believe this is plainly obvious. But there are people who disagree, OR they believe it's an okay tit-for-tat, OR they believe our outrage is misplaced and should be focused on white-on-black hate crime instead since that's more prevalent.
No one except trolls thinks this is ok. That's not the prevailing sentiment on this thread.
