Ehi, can someone start the facebook group on "In-Boundary Families for Uniforms at Hardy"? I'd immediately join and volunteer for moderation.

Hardy & Stoddert mom (very happy about both)

The uniforms are a little too "urban inner city" for our family's taste.

This is funny. When my kids were in elementary at a "posh" public in McLean and there was a push for uniforms, the thought was that it was too snooty.

More likely, not a parent at all. Just a sh!t-stirrer.

With Hardy threads, the operating assumption should probably be that a poster has an ulterior motive. (Hearst seems to suffer from the same fate.)

You would seriously not send your kid to school because it has a uniform?

They are just looking for flimsy justifications not to consider Hardy so they won't have to admit the real reason...

Who writes like this? "For our family's taste?" You're like a small minded snob character from an 80s John Hughes movie. I'm frankly relieved to know that your family will not be with mine at Hardy.

To give a uniform look. Thanks for the clarification, Kaya.

Regardless, I support them.

IB parent.

It's a dress code, not a uniform.

Ms Bax also offers math club on Monday afternoons after school. Math Club attendance is a soft requirement for the accelerated course (it is not a strict requirement because many OB kids need to take the bus immediately after school to avoid the traffic wave that starts around 4 pm).

Yes they are. That's why the math department needs to be sure they are up to the challenge. Most of them will then start Algebra in 7th.

Yes, they complete the entire Algebra course by the end of the year. It's an accelerated course. Lots of pressure and problems-set sheets as homework.
Yes, they do Algebra during 7th grade.
Yes, they do Geometry in 8th grade.

Why don't you go to an open house and ask? The answers here have been confusing.

Maybe the topic of the uniforms will come up, too. If the principal (Ms Pride) hears from enough new/prospective parents, she may get rid of them.

I'm serious: your bridge misses you. It's worried about your safety. It wants you back.

Sounds like a threat from the "legacy" Hardy?

Nope. I'm a homeowner in-boundary for Mann.

By the way, I've decided to vociferously support uniforms/dress code/prison suits simply because I find the repeated attempts to dislodge any serious discussion profoundly immature. So there you have it, I will be the founder of "In-Boundary Families for Uniforms at Hardy." Come join us!

PP here that spoke about my wife's positive experience at the Hardy Open house. Put us on the list of Comitted Hardy IB family that is in support of the uniforms.
