Subject: National Merit Semifinalist Cut-off Scores for High School Class of 2016
Re: the kids from SWW who may have made the cut (despite SWW not appearing on the list circulated before). It is worth checking, because in past years kids from SWW made the cut for semifinalist but the school neglected to inform them, they never received any notice, and they missed the deadline to apply for finalist status. Apparently, the envelope from the College Board with the info was sent to SWW but was never acted upon by anyone at the school.

The names of all the semifinalists in Arlington, Fairfax, and Montgomery Counties are all a matter of public record, but we apparently must keep the identities of any private school semifinalists under wraps. It kind of makes you wonder whether it's the identities of those private school kids who are semifinalists that need to be kept secret, or the identities of those who are not.
I'm the original list poster and have no idea what you're talking about or even trying to insinuate.
I'm also through posting. I was fortunate to get a copy of the list before it was publicly released and shared some general school information. Every school obviously has the list now. It is up to them to determine how - or if - they want to share the information on how a number of their students scored on the PSAT that they took almost a full year ago.

Is his PSAT score from 2015 at least 225? Was he a junior when he took the test? If so, he qualifies.

No. I have the list and have been happy to share it but am not going to jump through ridiculous hoops just to prove it. Believe it or don't, it doesn't matter to me.
But, you can take a look at this published list of No. Virginia semifinalists and then look back and compare to the totals I posted from various No. Va. schools like TJ and Oakton.

They match - though I counted 163 from TJ and Patch counted 164, so one of us was off by one there.

It's probably not a good idea to type in individual names of kids. If you have not been informed yet about your own child, you can call the NMSC people and they will tell you over the phone. They're very nice; I did this one year for my child because the school informed the kids at the last possible moment. Otherwise, many of the local school districts have published the names on their websites. Just google the school district and NMSF.
