I think things in this area are starting to go up though -- townhomes are now selling in the mid 600s around me.
I like being not too far from Mosaic District, Fairfax Corner, Patriot Center, etc. and there are buses to Vienna metro.
Wait until prices go back down. That's insane.
Not really. It's a sought after school district, not too far from 66/beltway/Vienna metro, and the houses and townhomes going for 600k+ tend to be new builds or very upgraded. Growth has been steady and not off the charts the past couple of years. Things like Mosaic are making the area within a few miles outside the beltway more attractive. We're not out in some boonies nowhere near transit or jobs, but thanks for pretending you know anything about the area.
Um, I'm actually from here, what's your excuse? Oh, you bought at the peak, poor you!

Anonymous wrote:Hey, I am the OP from last year! Happy to report that we found a house we're really excited about off Franconia Rd. in the Fairfax County part of Alexandria, 22310. Neighbors are nice, we're near enough to Old Town and the river that we go to both often, and we can walk to the store, the library, the gym, and a few restaurants, and we are a short bus ride from Metro. Keep looking.... you'll find it! We finally did.

I find Silver Spring to be exhausting. Comps are unreliable and can vary even from street to street in the same neighborhood, so we have no idea if the asking price is fair or not.
Not MD, but we recently moved to Brightwood DC and both work at NIH. Commute is about 30 minutes.
