Agree!!! We still eat almost everything mentioned. No one in my family is fat. I have a child in college on an athletic scholarship. The others are all very active and healthy. DH and I are 47 years old and still running marathons. We never get sick. And we love our processed foods!!!
No wonder y'all are so grumpy! You need a Twinkie!

Anonymous wrote:This thread made me realize why my in-laws eat the way they do, they are stuck in the 80s. Processed yellow American cheese slices, packaged hamburgers and hot dogs on white buns and every dessert is made with about 80 percent cool whip. They are not poor, just stuck.
Brach's jelly nougat candies
Creamed chipped beef (I still have this once every few years)
Scrapple (I read the package when I was a teenager and never ate it again)
Bologna sandwiches on white with mayo
I love ambrosia and forgot about it, may have to make an exception to my no cool whip rule
Pinwheels marshmallow cookies
Most of what we ate was good quality homemade stuff I still eat though like meat loaf, sloppy joes, homemade chicken noodle soup, marinara sauce from scratch, homemade cakes, pies, etc.

Chick-fil-A because my kids are consciences objectors.
Because of the anti-gay and breastfeeding stances?
I don't think they heard about the breastfeeding incident but they know all too well about the anti-gay stuff. While the kids are fairly young they have several friends with same sex parents.
Ask your kids if it's correct to drive a place out of business for exercising their right to their own religious beliefs, aka the bakery in Oregon. Gay rights should not trump ALL rights.
