I can't stand it when people name their kids after a luxury brand: Mercedes, Lexus, Tiffany.

You've got it wrong way round in the case of "Mercedes". The car was named after a race-driver's daughter, so what you can't stand is somebody using his daughter's name to sell cars. Too late, it was all over more than a hundred years ago.

Or after a nationality?

Nope, after an Irish hero.

I don't care what the name is. I just wish people would stop using trashy to describe names. It's so sickeningly classist.

It's trashy and also bothers everyone who hates the "i" ending names, which is a good number of people.

It is irrational and I can't explain my intense dislike of this name. I just really can't stand it.

Molly was a dog name in the 90's and now is becoming a popular choice for humans again. I think it's cute but no one with this name is going to be a supreme court justice.

I had a great-great grandmother from Ireland named Molly.
