Here are a few:
First Female President (Multiple Interesting Possibilities)
First Gay President (Mayor Pete)
Boring White Guy, Little Known Midwestern State Governor, Attempt to Appeal to Centrist and Men who stopped voting for Democrats (Beshear, Shapiro, etc.)
Hard-charging realist a la Rahm Emanuel, here to crack some heads and get Dems back on track
Young Up-and-Coming Unknown (Wesley Moore)
Nepo Baby (Chelsea Clinton, Hunter Biden, Ella Emhoff, etc.) Name recognition matters. A lot.
Squad Leader (AOC)
Evil Emperor (Gavin Newsom)
Which TYPE(S) would be most viable?
A Wesley Moore/Gretchen Whitmer ticket can win.
As a Marylander, I would rather set myself on fire than to vote for Wes Moore. He is an empty suit. If you want your child sitting in a classroom with criminals with ankle bracelets, then he is your guy. Governor Moore talks tough but is soft on crime and other crucial issues concerning Maryland.

Mark my words: he WILL be the 2028 candidate!

If you look at the original thread, Whitmer couldn’t win DCUM. Her childish videos did her in. I’m from Michigan and she’s lost a lost of credibility.
Relative to Trump and Biden, Whitmer would be a godsend in The White House.
Signed DCUM
2028 is the Dems to lose. A win for them does not mean American support for them so much as a reaction against Trump. Just like Trump 2.0 was a reaction to Biden, etc. There is not strong support for either major party just a balancing out of crazy.
Dems need someone the general population actually likes not just who Dems like. The real test is 2032.
This thread is NOT supposed to be about names. It is supposed to be about archetypes. Gretchen Whitmer failed. She was a good candidate until she let people see the crazy leak out of her bottle.
Stop letting Trump live rent free in your head and get serious or you’re going to be responsible for another political mess. At which point, you might as well be GOP/MAGA.

I’m a right-leaning Trump-hostile independent. Beshear is on my “do not vote for” list because of COVID. Based on past experience, I assume someone will chime in to the effect of “lol screw you maga!” But (1) I’m not MAGA and (2) if you’re hoping to win elections, you should try to win votes like mine!
If you voted for Trump, you are maga. Stay in your own lane
