Option H right now says all of Wootton plus half of Rosemont. That's it. I doubt that's the full 2200 spaces. Based on scheduled testimony at today I am willing to bet the board has plans to also add at least part of Field's Road. Maybe that gets it to 2200.
Maybe we can wait until we have more information before panicking? This veil of secrecy around Option H is making it so much worse. Completely unacceptable it was just released without any context.
I doubt they’ll split articulate fields road to feed only a part to crown/wootton. Fields road has never been split in any options so far
Yes it will be all or nothing for both rosemont and fields if I had to guess. I don’t think they will have support to split them. But also-these kids are the kids who historically ended up in Gaithersburg HS. Have you been to Gaithersburg High school? Remember that Horrible SA case from a few years ago? All the teen pregnancies happening there? I imagine the quality of Crown will turn into the same level as GHS in a few years if this goes through. It’s an entirely different demographic with entirely different values (education not being one of them).
PP here. Look at the map. It makes sense how they are splitting Rosemont and I have no idea what would happen with Fields. Just a guess they may add them. The rest of your message is disgusting and I have nothing to say in response.
You may think it’s disgusting. But it’s also true.
No, it's racism. "It’s an entirely different demographic with entirely different values (education not being one of them)." This is called racism.
Interesting. So now it’s racist to want your kids to go to school with other kids whose parents value education? Are you saying brown parents don’t value their kid’s education? Because that would actually make YOU racist.
Nice try. You said what you said. "Valuing education" is not a demographic.
demographic is also not a specific race. So I really don’t even think you know what you are saying.

Moving all of Rosemont Elementary to Crown isn’t in any of the options including Option H. Crown students currently go to Rosemont elementary and if you look at the maps for the option G and H, it would only be the part of Rosemont elementary that lives in Crown that would be reassigned to Crown High School in its neighborhood. The maps for Option G and H show that the large part of Rosemont elementary on the other side of 270 near the school would not be reassigned to Crown.
Also, an ES houses 6 grades of students and a HS only houses 4 grades of students so it would be more like 650 HS students for Crown if all of Rosemont and fields road were moved to crown, which they won’t be.
This. It's not as if 1000 students will be moved to Crown in a given year.
All this hysteria is not about property values or moving 3 miles. It's about having poor people in that school and the Wootton parents think it will bring unruly kids in who will be mixing with their smart kids and corrupt them.
I know how it works because I am Asian too, just not a Wootton parent.
