A pp mentioned American Cafe. I remember the chicken salad croissant sandwiches there. Croissant sandwiches were so nouveau then. There was one in Georgetown about where the Apple store is now. There was one on Cap Hill on Mass Ave. Was the Friendship Heights one below Woodies?

Interesting that so many of these are Bethesda/NW focused. That's where I grew up so of course it was the center of the universe but surprising that there are so many posters from the same area at what appears to be the same time.

Riding the roller coaster at Glen Echo Amusement park before the riots.
Watching the filming of the Exorcist in Georgetown.
Holding a backyard carnival for muscular dystrophy and meeting the first Ronald McDonald
Ice skating on the canal, falling through the ice - screaming like a baby when I stood up and the water was only up to my knees and my buddies laughed and laughed at me.
GD Grafitti.
Duck pin bowling.
Going to the first golden arches in Rockville and wondering if my Dad could ever get a job at a place that cool.
Working at Pier I Imports in B-town and loading up a car full of new ratan furniture for two guys who worked for NORML and came to DC with the Carter Administration. My tip was a joint. I was 16.

That was before AIDS. Hookers were just scary man/ladies that you saw downtown! Good times.

Not true. I worked in a building at 13 and K from 2000-2003 and there were tons of tranny hookers out past 9 pm or so. My tyrannical boss and hideous hours were the cause of me finding this out. It was not pretty. Taxi please!
