I was also going to ask about the drugs.

I find it hard to believe she left to score drugs unless we know she used regularly.

The documentary said something about how the crew wanted her to come off the boat and she really didn't want to. I find it hard to buy that she'd willingly leave the boat to buy drugs.

Doubtful. They didn't say conclusively. She was a college athlete, so unlikely to have been much of a user then. Even weed was a very big deal in the 90s. Still she could have easily taken ecstasy while at the disco. That was also pretty common in the 90s, without having to be into the drug scene.

Haven't watched the doc - was Amy known to be into drugs?

The brother said he and Amy were both tall enough to lean over the railing to vomit, if needed. No need to climb on a table. But there was no evidence of vomit, and there would have been. And also they were chatting, and she was not hammered, making the proposal of an accidental fall also implausible.

There is no way she went off the boat without shoes and her passport/some form of ID to enter Curacao.

They Netflix documentary left out the part about the scammer who had also produced fake photos of her.. He produced fake photos & her parents fell for it & gave him $$ so that him and his navy seals buddies can break her out of captivity. He went to prison for it.

Her family could have tracked down what shoes she brought by reviewing photos and asking friends. The room they were staying in is small. With 4 adults staying in the room, no way she brought a bunch of shoes, and no way she had shoes scattered all around. The fact that she left her Berkenstocks on the balcony really points to the fact she went overboard.

And again, Curacao is a territory of the Netherlands. Prostitution is LEGAL and regulated. They speak Papimamiento. Yellow is from Grenada where they speak English. So it is a different culture and language. Why is he going to traffic her to a place where prostitution is legal and he has no ties to that country.

Speculation is that the photos were of women he'd slept with. It could be something of a competitive sport for some crew members. The fact that Amy's pic was missing is suggestive in this context.
