Someone on the 10th floor that’s rubbing elbows up there. Their basis - other people are saying it in front of them. FWIW the specific rumor has started this wk so this is different than oh govt wide RIFs. Apparently they want a higher % gone than we got w VERA/VSIP.
Sure. What percentage are they aiming for? I keep on hearing these rumors that they want “more” but nobody EVER says how much more. Which is why I call BS.
There is specific percentage now. I’m not saying it publicly - talk to your friends, it’s not a huge agency.
And there is rumor of a 2nd VERA/VSIP - IDK if now but maybe when RTO has been going a bit longer.

No one has said anything about staff needing to be hesitant to take leave. They took away telework. That’s not related to leave. I have plenty of leave and I will use it freely until I am told otherwise
I mean other than kissing Trump's ass about the tacky decorations in the oval office it didn't seem that bad. From a policy perspective you had to expect that some of GG's rulemakings would be rolled back and enforcement would be less aggressive which is where I think he was going with that paragraph.
With Musk out there is a chance that DOGE will have less influence and cabinet heads may feel more inclined to push back against them. I don't think Vought has the same amount of leverage with Trump as Musk so there is a chance things lighten up if the agency heads felt so inclined.
I hope you’re right. My sense following Atkins’ remarks is that he is going to toe the line. Any hope I had for getting pre-Covid telework back is gone.
Why would he be on our side? Look at the administration he chose to work for
I think there was some hope that he’d want to retain talent and institutional knowledge. Morale has never been lower and some telework would help.
Pretty sure they’re not looking to retain, they’re looking for more people to go. While unsubstantiated there have def been RIF rumors in the last few days. If they bring back telework, lots of people suspend their fledging job searches.
