Silver Spring's median household income is significantly lower at $95,213 compared to Bethesda's $164,142. Additionally, the chances of becoming a crime victim in Silver Spring are 1 in 28, compared to 1 in 71 in Bethesda. While Silver Spring offers cultural diversity, Bethesda's economic stability, lower poverty, and crime rates make it a safer and more appealing area for many.
Seems like AI wrote this. Regardless, of course it’s true that if you compare any two areas in the country, the richer area will probably have less crime. As indicated above, Montgomery County gets an A+ for its low crime and not everyone wants to (or can afford to) live in Bethesda, so silver spring is a great choice for many people.
Not everybody but most people who can afford to. It’s not really a choice if you can’t afford better.
OK, that's your opinion as someone who probably doesn't know many people in Silver Spring. There are some beautiful, large houses in 20910 owned by wealthy families who love SS. I also know some people who bought their first house in Silver Spring when they weren't making much money, and now have HHI in the seven figures but chose not to move because there is no reason to. Of course, there are probably more of these people in Bethesda, but unless you have data on net worth of people in SS, you really have no way of knowing how many wealthy people are in SS. Lots of people don't flaunt it the way that people do in Bethesda, nor do they feel the need to live in a predominantly white area.

If that's true, then NoVa must have more of them. Crimegrades:
Arlington County: C- (https://crimegrade.org/safest-places-in-arlington-county-va/)
Fairfax County: B (https://crimegrade.org/safest-places-in-fairfax-county-va/)
Montgomery County: A+ (https://crimegrade.org/safest-places-in-montgomery-county-md/)
Lol at you spamming crime grades in desperation to make MoCo look better than it really is. Violent crime and property crime are both higher in MoCo.

Thanks -- I'll trust crimegrade over your random blogger. I understand how disappointing it must be for you to chosen to live in NoVa because you wanted to believe it was safer, and you furiously spam every thread about MoCo with the claim that crime is out of control there, and it's all turned out to be false.
ABC is a random blogger? Talk about being in a state of denial

It’s a random reporter from the local ABC affiliate which is owned by Sinclair media, basically a mouthpiece for conservatives. Lots of people in this area avoid watching WJLA because it’s a propaganda outlet.

I could have afforded all of those places, and bought a house in 20910. Love it here. A couple of my neighbors are biglaw partners so evidently not everyone shares your preferences.
keep telling yourself that. no one in their right mind that can afford more would live in SS
I choose to. So much for your theory.

So articulate. Ok everyone- Silver Spring is poo poo. Case closed, the wise one has spoken!
