Why should Madison and Herndon kids suffer through SBG when the kids at McLean and Langley still get their inflated grades?
Why does the extreme left always want to drag others down to the lowest level rather than actually fixing issues?
What does this even mean?
DP - you really don't know what this means? FCPS is teaching to the lowest common denominator. It's not fair others have _____, because I wasn't born as smart or didn't have the same environment. If you have more or do better than me, it's not because of your hard work. If some kids do homework, that's not fair because others have parents that won't make them or their home life is not conducive to homework. If some kids turn in their classwork and get a grade, that's not fair because other kids may know the material but they didn't do the work, so not fair. If a kid studies for a test and gets a 4 and another gets a 2, that kid with the 2 should be given more opportunities to get a 4, because it's not fair for anyone to be stuck with the results that come from not studying/having a bad day/whatever.
I wish FCPS would just give the kids with Ds and Fs a C and leave everyone else alone.
Bingo!

Regular (traditional) grading worked and was understood by all. Why did they change it?
Non-school bureaucrats are always trying to justify their jobs by coming up with the "new" thing. Standards based grading is an old concept from the '80's and '90's. It's being recycled in a new package. Eventually going back to all classes everyday will become a new trend and FCPS will do that and try to convince everyone that block schedule was a mistake.

Sorry, should have encouraged you to contact your SB member to let them know your thoughts.
Oh I have! Many many times to be “left on read” as the kids say!

Exactly. This is "equity," playing out in real time. I hope all of you who voted for this are happy with yourselves?
Next election cycle, find some legitimate conservatives to run for school board instead of a bunch of MAGA clowns and I'll be glad to vote for one of them.
I don’t think a moderate conservative can overcome the non-parent voter who will just vote blue down the line. Dems will always win in this area and these problems are theirs alone to solve.

You will accuse any one endorsed by republicans as a “MAGA clown” so your opinion is irrelevant.
