Curious why it gets almost 100k applications? And if it is true that there are only 3,000 freshmen, they must be doing something right.

Time to shut down the thread.
It’s baffling the speed they find these threads. My kid’s school often gets bashed on here but I just let it slide since everyone is entitled to their opinion. Apparently no one is allowed to not like NEU since it’s the best school ever.
LOL -agree! When I wss in college, it was a school for white trash "townies".
I lived in Boston for 10 years and had never heard of northeastern. Not once.
Where in Boston? Because if you were in Boston proper for ten years you would have at least seen the name. It’s on the green line of the T and the stop is called Northeastern.
Plus there was probably no reason for you to know the many colleges in Boston.
Cambridge
So you didn’t live in Boston. I lived in Cambridge for a few years and I never said I lived in Boston. They are two very distinct cities.

Simply not true. It has been a local/regional school until very recently when they made it so easy to apply by just a few extra clicks on the common app. No essays or additional materials like most colleges require for an application.
It hasn't been a regional school for over 25 years. You are revealing your age when you write like that!!
+1. BU was always more of a commuter school than Northeastern - maybe that is what is bothering this poster?
My neighbor's child went to BU. Great kid, loved his time there. He lived off campus after his sophomore year. Met other students from all over the world. He's doing well now, working at P&G. All these Boston schools have become top notched- BU, NEU, BC, Tufts, Babson. If you can afford them, the experience can't be beat.
+1
The Boston area colleges scene is special. Even Emerson gets some love.
My BU child knew nothing about hockey, but the hockey tournament known as the Beanpot really drew him in. His friends attended all the games with the other big 3 schools Harvard, BC, and Northeastern. It was really quite the experience.
I doubt that schools like bc and BU care about playing Northeastern. Sounds like NEU boosters trying to manufacture a rivalry.
Do you even know what you’re talking about? Northeastern won last years beanpot along with 2023, 2020, 2019, 2018.
The Beanpot has been BU, BC, Harvard and Northeastern. BC and BU were always dominant but Northeastern is dominating lately. Just like the school I guess.
Does Northeastern Mills College have a hockey team?
