Just under 1,000 carjackings and this absolutely shocking number of auto thefts for 2023. What will happen to car insurance rates?



The data by year certainly seems to link back to legislative and policy changes by the DC Council.

If there are serial repeat offenders that the USAO won't prosecute and which federal judges keep letting go, watch them like a hawk and the second they commit another crime keep throwing them back in front of the USAO and the judges - and PUBLICIZE IT until it gets to be such an embarrassment to the USAO and the judges that they either start solving the issue or resign. I think one of other biggest issues is that MPD gets paralyzed with the idea of "why bother, USAO won't prosecute" and thus don't arrest - instead, make the arrest and make it completely the USAO's fault and shame the USAO for it.


Why isn't our council leading protests? We are dying. Shouldn't they also shine a shame light on this? Or are they agreeable to the low prosecution rate?

Look what the COA, again out of step with most jurisdictions and SC precedent, has been up to lately. COA judges are federally appointed.



This is Judge Easterly (appointed by Obama) and Judge Deahl (appointed by Trump) up to their shenanigans again in another split decision

They are the ones who said MPD basically can’t stop anyone they suspect of carrying an illegal firearm. This decision has led to the huge spike in gun crimes in DC.
