Just doing his job, you'll say. Sure, sure. But this job that Mike Johnson did this week, and that Mike Pence did on Jan 6, wasn't easy at all.

Mike Pence did the right thing on January 6th, once he figured out what it was.

Mike Johnson? This aid package was supposed to be passed months ago. It was delayed for no reason. Just dysfunction. Admirable? Not really.

+1

He is one of the many people who helped create the political nightmare in which he swims. He is as extreme as just about anyone else in his party and I’m sick of giving cookies to terrorists who have no problem wrecking things.

Mike Johnson didn’t get his first intel briefing last week. He’s worried about keeping his job. This should have been brought to the floor last year.

Counter point. Boy speaker is speaking to donors, trying to look moderate. he sees the writing on the wall. MAGA went too far on abortion and will lose in Nov. Trump is going to lose. Mikey is pivoting to stay in power. His seat is 100% safe.

Yup. And Mike Johnson came out and said he voted for it because it was the right thing to do and because he believes the intel briefings he receives as speaker. Seems like the bloom is somewhat off the MAGA rose:

I seriously doubt it. This is just one thing, and he’s going to get destroyed by his party for it.

It's pretty much all the leverage they've got. "You do this and the House goes to the Democrats now".

They should have done so a long time back. The GOP isn’t fit to govern.
