Does anyone have a sense of whether the volleyball players at McLean High School also play for clubs and if so, which ones? Does she need to play club to make and succeed on the McLean team?

FPYCparent wrote:So, how did this year's tryouts go overall compared to last year?
Last year was our first foray into this crazy world of club VB and their were easily 75+ for 15s at a club fielding two teams in the age group. Vienna Elite said they had 150+ for U15s last year, and ended up creating a fifth team if I remember correctly.
This year, we were more strategic and attended more pre-tryout clinics where DD wanted to play (all high/high-ish 16s Open level). Attended one tryout on Friday and one on Saturday (DD's preferred #1 and #2 options). We left Sunday for "safety" options, but at the last minute DD asked if she could go to a Metro Travel makeup tryout. We were like "What?!?! Now you tell us!" We did end up squeezing in a safety late Sunday. She ended up at her first choice, but not on her preferred team ... so she's playing on-age (15s ... September birthday) vs. one year up as she had done last year.

I know that travel costs are included for players but as I understand it most parents still travel to all the tournaments. A VA Elite mom told me it cost them close to $18K last year all in. $12K for club fees and then another $6000 for all the parent travel. What are they getting for all that money that you can't get at other clubs? DD was pretty interested this year because she has some HS teammates who play there but we just couldn't make sense of the price tag.
Ask the director. It’s a good question. I know that they provide a lot of extra positional training, and their practice space is probably expensive. I’m fairly certain that for 15s and up fees include some travel fees because parents arent required to travel with the girls.

I have a U16 player who received this call back. She already missed tryouts for other clubs because of MOJO original tryout and a first call back. Are both 16s teams fully formed? If so, what's the point for this final callback? There is no cost to it. We might end up club less this year since we put all the eggs in the Mojo basket.
Also, we did attend Renaissance main tryout and did not hear back. Any point to reach out to Chris?
thank you!
