Well, that didn't work out.

I think a "tough on crime" candidate could have won, but not with Josh's flaws. Josh's use of the "n" word and his capitalizing on a tragedy made it obvious that he didn't have the judgment necessary for the job.

Parisa’s toast because she turned down opportunities to win, and we want to see people get locked up before they have a chance to come up here and harm us. We just have to wait until Tuesday at 7:00 PM to celebrate for real.

You'll need to keep that champagne on ice, for at least another four years.

Between the N word and the sleazy commercial- I think he's done with politics.

Paris is stuck trying to explain why the judge wouldn’t follow her recommendation for a heavier sentence and why she wouldn’t pander to the victim’s family. And when you’re explaining, you’re losing.

Anonymous wrote:Josh did everything you’re supposed to do in building his career as a prosecutor. He assessed how strong his opponent’s lawyer/s were. He took APD’s arrests and harvested convictions and pleas. He backed the Blue and knew how to have fun with them. He carefully cultivated connections in the political and prosecutorial worlds. He registered his website domain while serving under Theo so that he’d be ready whenever she retired. And then this ACLU card-carrying interloper sashayed her way into office on the back of George Soros and riding the unfortunate overreaction to the George Floyd thing.

So now he’s got a new boss and voters who stupidly threw away the security they have enjoyed all these years. As if it comes by magic rather than knocking heads together and not letting technicalities get in the way of safety. It’s a joke that woman is the CA, and he tried to make it work, but she just kept throwing away all the advantages that keep undesirables locked up. So he had to move forward, fortunately having healthy seed money plus his website set to go after her hard. The silent Arlingtonians are rising up. She’s done.

She is not, in fact, "done." Guess "back the blue" wasn't a winning strategy in a Democratic primary?

Anonymous wrote:You can debate but it's checkmate. You have an attractive older white woman mourning the loss of a clean-cut W-L athlete, and blaming the Iranian incumbent for not being solicitous enough to them for her taste. All with really dark imagery and music when Parisa herself is discussed. That moves people and lets them make their choices. Parisa can only get liberals. Josh can get people who want better reform, and people who want to see our police allowed to protect us and wall off Arlington from DC the way they want to do it. Two groups beats one. Josh wins handily.

Predictions are hard, amirite?

I’m really glad he lost! We need equity in criminal activities. More white people need to be forced to commit crimes!

Guess the racist POSs are cranky this morning.

The racist POSs and the angry white Catholics in N. Arl. were his base. They are going to pout for a while.

I think Parisa has done a far better job than the other reform prosecutors - Biberaj, Descano. I'm gladly voting for her.

North Arlington voter here. I’m voting for Parisa tomorrow too. I actually voted for Stamos back in 2019 because A) Parisa had no prosecutorial experience and B) I had no clue how retrograde the office was under Stamos. I’m glad Parisa won. She’s made good on her campaign promises and, unlike some of her counterparts in neighboring counties, hasn’t botched any big cases. Could she improve her public communication skills? Sure. Is there more work for her to do on reform? Absolutely. At least I trust her to keep the work going, which can’t be said for her opponent. She’s earned another term.

Next thread in six months - why is crime up in Falls Church? Why was my house robbed? Why were my kids attacked? Make it stoooooppppp

The R whiners won’t wait six months. They complain incessantly.

They don’t want to be the victims of your own stupidity

Their whining isn’t based in reality. They are always victims of something.
