+1 and I hope the families sue the sh*t out of the city prompting them to FINALLY do something
I hope so too. The stories about the victims are absolutely heartbreaking.
The victims?
NO ONE cares about them. Not anymore.
Elected lawmakers only care about: eliminating bail, sentence reduction, “restorative justice,” etc. of course, this all results in far more innocent victims of crime / victims of criminals.
Dead victims don’t vote. <taps head>
Plus they were mainly Hispanic -- second class citizens in DC.
This is heartbreaking and true. If the occupants of the car she hit had been wealthy, white, connected or any combination this would be a different story.
I think pp meant that they would matter more if they'd been AA.

This is confounding to me. Either she did, or she didn't.

Sometimes the incompetence and even malevolence of DC government is breathtaking. Bowser, city council, department heads. They just don't care. DC government is nothing more than a grift, an old timey patronage system. Five DUIs and she's still driving and killing people as a result. In a perfect world, DC officials would be convicted as accessories to murder. Those three people would be alive today if someone had actually done their job
