Right, but wasn’t it a federal case? I know nothing about the shaman but doubt he’s wealthy enough for a protracted legal fight with the federal government, who have an extremely high conviction rate. Maybe if he knew that there was video which helped his case, he wouldn’t have plead guilty.
People have often made untrue confessions to the police (believe it or not) and certainly will take a plea deal if they believe they have a chance of being convicted.


I’m sure he didn’t have those resources. If you want criminal defendants to have more resources, then start voting for democrats. The republican position is that there’s nothing wrong with prosecution having far superior resources. You got what you voted for.

Nicky Haley said there should be a competency test at 75 years age or older for Presidential candidate. But reading some of the comments here, I think there should be a competency test of adult citizens (18 years or older) before they are allowed to vote. These commenters and people like them pose a danger to our democracy with their votes. They have education but are devoid of commonsense and critical thinking skills. It’s sad.
