Right, but wasn’t it a federal case? I know nothing about the shaman but doubt he’s wealthy enough for a protracted legal fight with the federal government, who have an extremely high conviction rate. Maybe if he knew that there was video which helped his case, he wouldn’t have plead guilty.
People have often made untrue confessions to the police (believe it or not) and certainly will take a plea deal if they believe they have a chance of being convicted.
