I was at game with my elem school teacher. St. James fogo is very good. They have a few other guys who can really play. I don't know how good Bullis is, but St. James hung for a bit before the lack of depth eventually got to them. I would put them on the same level as a Dematha/Landon, from what I have seen.

Former IAC parent here whose son played high-level D1. When my son played in HS (about a decade ago), the only competitive programs in the area were GP, Landon, Gonzaga, St. Stephens, STA, Good Counsel, and DeMatha. PVI was starting to make some noise in Fairfax and Bullis was really beginning to gain some ground in the IAC. SJC was a total non-factor, Saint Mary's Ryken, was actually a solid program at this time as they had a HOF coach down there.

I can't figure out why people love to knock programs or put down programs that are on the rise. I think we can agree it's a good thing when new programs come along and start making some noise at the regional level. Programs don't rise and fall overnight, sustainable programs take a commitment from the institution itself to find the right coaches and to ensure their programs feel supported long-term.

It's way too early to determine if Saint James in Hagerstown is going to be a regional lacrosse power but John Tucker is an excellent coach. Student-athletes in Washington and Frederick counties MD now have an option to consider in their backyard vs having to make the long trek to Baltimore or DC - this is a good thing and it's good for lacrosse.

IMO Bullis is as good as advertised and not overhyped. Bullis D has three D1 commits and the goalie is committed to Syracuse. MAC team scoring 9 against those guys is doing pretty well, at least on FO and offense. Conceding 20 on the other hand, not so good.

All somebody has to say is a school that is not a lacrosse blue blood in the DMV is getting better and building something and the lacrosse mafia lose their minds. They cant handle they are not as relevant as they used to be and are heading back to the days of being good at squash/tennis/golf and soccer. SJC got a ton of hate and ended up laughing in their face. Now St. James is building a better program and here they come. So laughable. And yes, good luck dealing with St. James's fogo.

+1 on the nice facilities at St James. Went there for the PLL indoor championship series a couple weeks ago and the place is amazing. The wife dropped off DD at a birthday party there last weekend and she had nothing but good things to say.

St. James the school and The St. James are not the same.
