Two of my kids got into UVA but chose not to go since it was their safety.
They were worried about their safety because of the lax gun laws?

CONGRATS! Very exciting for your DC.
Congratulations to your kid! If you have a minute to help another curious parent - When you say 11 APs here, is it 11 by Junior year, or are you counting Senior year, too?
I’m the pp whose child got in with 11 APs. 11 APs include senior year APs. I could be wrong but I think UVA is looking for more well rounded than pointy kids.
I wouldn't say well rounded. I would say interesting kids with good stats. A good story, something unique, as well as an impressive transcript.
That actually sounds like the description of a "well rounded" student.
If you think that is well rounded , then you prob don’t have a kid that got in recently.
DP. I am not sure what you are getting at.

I’m sorry but this is just plain sad. Are you serious?

She is in a gap year, which I think may have helped.
