People can claim the flag all they want, you can't prevent someone from making the claim. What you can do is ensure that the flag represents your values, instead of rejecting the flag because someone else also claims it. Celebrate independence, celebrate individual liberty and liberalism. Celebrate the US, celebrate the 4th of July!

Burial flags are NOT meant to be flown. That’s incredibly disrespectful. I have my husband’s, my father’s, and my brother’s in their boxes and would never. Get Get another flag.

DP. I think it depends on the family. There are no rules against it. We fly my uncle's flag. He had 3.5 tours in Vietnam. We fly it on his anniversary and putting it up, bringing it down holds a lot of meaning for us.

I haven't read all 19 pages of this but.... I have flags flying all over our house and lawn this weekend. They are beautiful and I love celebrating the 4th of July! We are just back from an extensive trip overseas and are so blessed that we get to come home to this wonderfully imperfect country that is still viewed by the rest of the world as a shining city on a hill.
