I am vaccinated and I would rather live mask free and catch covid than mask up for years and not catch covid once my kids are also vaccinated. How can you not understand that? Vaccinated people like that peloton guy can catch covid. They are almost always totally fine. He’s back dancing! I am willing to exchange a very small risk for normalcy. Why can’t I do that if you can wear 2 masks if you want?
The problem is your poor choices impact others and you can make other people sick.

And if it's so easy to catch COVID and spread it according to the doomers, you're only catching it once anyways (reinfections are extremely rare among non-elderly) and it's only for a few days while you're contagious. I caught it last year pre-vaccine and I was way less sick than when I had the flu (consistent with statistics, as it is for a non-obese 40 year old).
FYI - every single one of you will be exposed to COVID repeatedly for the rest of your lives (it's not going away). You're simply wasting your life, delaying the inevitable (and considering the extreme age stratification, delaying it to when the virus will be even more dangerous because of your age).
That's fine if you want force your own kids to live in fear even vaccinated, but our kids are getting set free from this COVID Zero nonsense as soon as this child vaccine is out.
Sounds like your kids won't need the vaccine only a positive attitude

I said come springtime. I’m in N Arlington and the people I know who are still masking are doing so b/c their kids are unvaccinated. People here are starting to want test to stay like other jurisdictions instead of mandatory isolation days. They’re signing their kids up for indoor winter sports. This is not the COVID of last winter and things will be even more different once the weather warms.
Also, I see maybe 75% of people masking indoors still. Plenty of unmasked adults at Harris Teeter and whatnot. Lots of indoor dining going on.
So then relax until springtime.
Exactly. There are more than 1 of us responding to you btw. My suggestion that you get therapy still stands. You're waaaaaaay to wound up about this. Get help. Your children deserve a better parent.
And there’s more than 1 person responding to you as well. And if you are agreeing with me that things will be different come springtime why are you so upset about what I’m posting? Shouldn’t you be happy about this? I’m sure happy to live in a country that has access to incredibly effective vaccines, and I’m not sure why my optimism is so upsetting for you? It’s like celebrating any sort of positive momentum toward the end of the pandemic is met with the anxiety of those who have made this pandemic their life’s purpose or are otherwise sad to be going back to normal life (which I guess means normal life pre-pandemic wasn’t that great for them).
Saying the tide is changing toward people wanting to get rid of masks once kids are vaccinated shouldn’t be a controversial statement whatsoever, but there are posters on here who are absolutely beside themselves at the suggestion of that. The people on here going off about other posters “needing therapy” and being bad parents are legit unraveling. It’s bizarre and fascinating to watch unfold.
