DD was accepted at Alabama and Indiana. Deferred at Auburn. 3.6UW, 3.9W, no test scores. Waiting on Tenn, V Tech, Penn St., JMU, U of SC and Clemson. Only hopeful for 1 or 2 of those.

Where else did your kid apply? Have you visited Alabama yet?
Also applied to PSU and LSU for EA. Others schools are UMD, Towson, VaTech and still thinking of others for regular decision. We have never even been to Alabama but she wanted a acceptance early. Counselor said it was a likely and she really loves football and wants to be in a sorority so we will likely check it out. Doubt it will be affordable though.

Congratulations! I grew up in Chicago and really like Loyola. It's in a FANTASTIC location on the Near North Side (near Rogers Park) which is a really fun and safe neighborhood. It's right off the water, on the same Sheridan bus line as Northwestern--and just a short distance-- so you can easily go up to Northwestern for events. There's so many restaurants, clubs, shops etc. in that area (though it's gotten a lot more gentrified than when I lived there and off-campus housing is likely expensive).
You definitely should make the trip--what a great choice for a safety.
