so many people salty about where their kid landed on a random list.

CM uses this list to throw shade at EHS coach. How does a team with 11 so-called 'All-DMV' players have such a lackluster season? Their big win was 14-9 over SSSAS to avoid last place. But at least CM compiles a list. Sad that no real media cares about DC area lacrosse anymore. At least MIAA has the Sun. Their All-Metro list just came out.

They should post stats for the players. There are a couple of offensive players on there that had 30 points all season and no real impact in any game. There’s a reason some of those kids aren’t posting season stats online anywhere.

Maybe some of those kids drew doubles and the best poles to guard them. By doing so, they made it easier for their teammates to score.

There are a bunch of kids who had that issue but still produced, that’s all I’m saying. In the WCAC there were players on the top three teams who were marked men and still had 60+ points and lead their teams. I would even argue there were players on the 5th-7th place teams that had very little help and were the focus of the defense and still produced. The lefty from Heights comes to mind. It seems like there are several kids who were gonna make the team regardless of how they actually played this year.

Kids know who the true ballers are on every HS and Club team they face.

These lists are for parents.

Agree, but you also have the other side of this argument: what do you do with the kid who puts up 50–75+ points in the MAC? Is that player more deserving than the kid who draws the opponent’s best pole every game, or who faces constant double teams for the entire season or even half the season?

I’m assuming that level of context is taken into consideration for some players, like the #5 at Prep, but it doesn’t seem to be applied consistently across the board. You also have players on the top three teams in the IAC putting up 50–60+ points and not receiving recognition. Which is why as PP said most don't put up stats to show production.

In the end, stats are useful, but they can also be misleading. I think all factors need to be considered like production, competition level, defensive attention, team role, and overall impact. But that’s a tall order for a skeleton staff at DMV Lacrosse.

I would also agree that the state selections which have coaches input are more accurate.

Is it just Maddox and Rienzo? Who else contributes to the rankings? The pre-season rankings had input from school coaches when the intern could get a call back or answered. At least the All-Conference and State postings were done by coaches polling.

Yeah, agree there are just too many people on the list, no way it is objective maybe for first team, but beyond that, probably relying more on club or school names versus actual game analysis.

There are also players who missed several games and were not significant contributors to their team's success. In contrast, several Honorable Mention players had a direct impact on winning games, making key plays in clutch situations across offense, midfield, defense, and at the faceoff position. Their contributions consistently influenced game outcomes and were instrumental to their teams' success. But agree the kids that never saw the field is a joke.
