Supermajor Warns Oil Prices Could Hit $160 Within Weeks
By ZeroHedge - May 29, 2026, 9:00 AM CDT
Exxon SVP Neil Chapman warned at the Bernstein conference that global oil inventories are approaching 'unheard of' lows and models show Brent crude could spike to $150-$160 once the operational floor is reached.
Chevron CEO Mike Wirth said the market's shock absorbers have been 'steadily drawn down' and expects direct upward pressure on physical prices in June and July, with Hormuz still blocking 12-13 million barrels per day.
Goldman Sachs data shows global inventories plunged a record 8.7 million barrels per day in May alone, while JPMorgan previously calculated only 0.8 billion of 8.4 billion total global barrels were realistically available before operational stress.

There is no agreement to sign! Trump’s lackeys are hanging around the White House telling Trump he is great. No one from the US is negotiating with the Iranians. The last face to face meeting was April 11. No meeting have been held then since then.
They don't have to have face to face meetings to negotiate, dimwit. They've absolutely been going back and forth through mediators. DP
As the U.S.-Iran war hit the three-month mark, the two sides were negotiating through mediators on a memorandum of understanding that would extend their ceasefire by 60 days and begin talks over Iran's nuclear program.
U.S. sources told the White House press pool a tentative agreement has been reached, but it's pending President Trump's approval. Iran also has not yet provided a response to the latest version, a regional official said.
Vice President JD Vance said negotiators are "going back and forth" and making a lot of progress, but it's "still TBD" whether talks will reach a point where Mr. Trump can sign a deal. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also characterized talks as ongoing.

Wow great summary of how the negations are just f'ed by Trump. There is not even an American citizen in the room! This is scary stuff.
I’m so curious to know how the powers that be feel about their return investment on Trump. I mean, clearly they got him elected because he’s dumb enough to do whatever they can convince him to do, but at the same time, he’s also incapable of doing anything competently.
